i have an automation based on a threshold template, it checks the delta temperature between two sensors in both directions, there is histeresys and so on.
I know it is evaluated only on threshold crossing, and this is ok “almost” always. Obviously it breaks when (esample) the system is started up when the value is already over the threshold: in this case the automation is never triggered.
At the moment, i implemented also a trigger on system startup: the automation checks thresholds and acts consequently.
However, i’m not sure this is the “correct” way to design the automation, that’s why i’m asking for an opinion
