I am using HA for security cameras including motion detection and recording. I am using the ONVIF integration with RTSP streams and motion alarms (from the cameras) on four cameras (3 Tapos and one IMOU). It “mostly works” except it appears that while one camera is recording, the others will not – as though the recording automations are somehow serialized. This is particularly noticeable because the cameras cover overlapping areas and one camera sees lots of motion. So the “noisy” camera effectively blocks recording of the other cameras.
I have one automation per camera, with all automations calling a common, parameterized script. I am searching for the right approach to take for recording so that the cameras do not interfere with each other. Is this doable? Has anyone done it?
I will share whatever scripts/automations/configurations you think are necessary.
