I’ve just bought a Treatlife dimmer with a model number DS01C on Amazon. Since I want to get it off the cloud, I did a Tuya-Convert following @digiblur’s videos.
After a lot of research, I relize that the Tuya developers are trying to subvert changing firmware. Luckily I read about not using the app to connect the device before trying. After the Tuya-convert, there are oddities that may be related to the “C” version of the DS01.
In general, it seems to work except the web-based dimmer does not affect the LEDs on the device and vice-versa. When I set TuyaMCU 21 to 2 or 3 the web interface works, but when I set it to 3, the manual dimmer only goes as low as the web-based dimmer slider is set. It’s kind of a split personality.
I think the dimmer commands are somehow separated in this newer DS01C model. Has anyone else seen this? I’ve tried using the template from @Blakadder’s device page for the DS01 and it makes no difference from the module setting Tuya MCU (54).
Also, has anyone figured out a way to get native Alexa support like Wemo or possibly Hue without HA? I use both native and HA to drive my automations. I’ve been looking all over but it seems like I’m blazing a trail with the DS01C version of TreatLife Dimmers.Thanks.
