I was a bit nervous about upgrading to 2021.1.1 because I have things humming the way I want, but decided to take a snapshot and give it a try because, sooner or later, I’ll have to upgrade.
Once upgraded everything seemed good except I noticed that Z-Wave was listed as Stopped instead of Starting as normal. No biggie, I’ll just hand-start it and if that works I’ll reboot a few times and make sure it auto-starts. No dice. When I hit start it spins for a moment and goes back to Stopped.
I looked at the logs and cannot see any reference to Z-Wave errors or other issues that might be causing this to happen. I’m running the non-beta version of Z-Wave.
So I restored the snapshot I smarty took prior to the upgrade (another first of restoring a snapshot) and restoring things back to 2020.12.2 resolved the problem and Z-Wave starts as normal. Of course the database is toast (as, apparently, is fairly standard from what I’ve read on the forums, that really sucks but it’s not the end-all).
Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this problem since I can’t seem to find anything in the logs indicating an issue? Or perhaps I’m looking at the wrong logs? I checked both the supervisor logs and the core logs.
