How do I connect my Genio IR receiver?

How do I add my IR sensor so I can access the devices that are enabled through it? And also, is there a way to directly add the connected devices through HomeAssistant? I would like to try showing an entity-button that tells me if the aircon is working or not, and be able to toggle it on/off.
