Howdee,
I’ve been slowing following Rob’s guide here to put all my IoT and Google/Amazon devices into their own UniFi VLAN’s and this has proven to be quite time consuming.
My last device to migrate to the new VLAN SSID is my Xiaomi Gateway. I’ve got this on the new VLAN now and I can ping it from any network as I have yet to implement any firewall rules. Home Assistant is still on my main LAN and from what I’ve read, it will stay there. UniFi by default allows all VLAN’s to see one another unless you implement rules to the contrary and I haven’t set up any rules yet.
After moving the Xiaomi Gateway to its new network though, Home Assistant can no longer ‘see’ it and the integration is failing. For reference, my HA instance is running under Proxmox on a NUC only because HA does not currently support direct installation on a NVMe drive (but that’s a whole nother topic).
Anyone done this and have it working?
