I am starting with automation and planning my installation. I am waiting for Dell Wyse to install Home Assistant but…
In the house I will have a suspended ceiling with LED strips and I am planning to use E2-ZR controllers.
I see that they are supported by Z2MQTT but there come my worries. These controllers will be hidden in the ceiling, so I will pair once and have them hidden in the ceiling and access to them will be really hard.
What I am afraid of is that when I will be experimenting with Home Assistant, maybe change my gear and the need for a new paring will occur I will have a problem…because it would mean I have to rip the ceiling to get to the controllers.
So I thought I could use gateway ZB-BOX3 that will always be paired with the controllers, and then use this ZB-BOX3 in Home Assistant, so when I change anything, anyt setup etc, I will have to pair with the device I have access to.
But here comes my question, does anyone know if it is possible to pair ZB-BOX3 with HA, without using any Tuya integrations? Or is this the only way?
Do you know maybe if it is also possible to pair one E2-ZR device with ZB-BOX3 and Home Assistant at the same time? This could work for me as I’d always have a on-hand backup device
