Modbus server in node-red - port 502 doesn't appear to be open on host

I’m trying to run a modbus server on port 502 using node red.

Node red apparently has “host networking” so as long as my HASS is listening it should work, but im stuck at how to enable this on my HASS instance.

I’m running as a VM in proxmox.

any help appreciated.
