How to integrate a fritzbox

@Jaques-Ludwig wrote:

Hi,

now I have read a lot about how to integrate a fritzbox.

I think, something is wrong with my configuration, but I don’t know what.

I got two errors in the Log:

  • Cannot connect to 169.254.1.1 on port 1012: [Errno 113] Host is unreachable
  • Phonebook with ID 0 not found on Fritz!Box

What I have done in the configuration.yaml:

device_tracker:
  - platform: huesensor
  - platform: fritz
    host: 192.168.2.1
    username: username
    password: password
    new_device_defaults:
      track_new_devices: true

and

fritzbox:
  devices:
    - host: 192.168.2.1
      username: username
      password: password

For “username” and “password” I have set the login data of my fritzbox. I use a 7490 model.

I have built an automation, that notes me, if a call is comming or outgoing. But without access to the fritzbox it doesn’t work.

In automations.yaml I have done this:

- id: '1583587555339'
  alias: Telefon
  description: ''
  trigger:
  - platform: state
    entity_id: sensor.telefon
  condition: []
  action:
  - service: notify.notify
    data_template:
      title: "Phone"
      message: >-
        {% if is_state("sensor.telefon", "idle") %}
          Phone is idle
        {% elif is_state("sensor.telefon", "dialing") %}
          Calling {{ state_attr('sensor.telefon', 'to_name') }} ({{ state_attr('sensor.telefon', 'to') }})
        {% elif is_state("sensor.telefon", "ringing") %}
          Incoming call from {{ state_attr('sensor.telefon', 'from_name') }} ({{ state_attr('sensor.telefon', 'from') }})
        {% else %}
          Talking to {{ state_attr('sensor.telefon', 'with_name') }} ({{ state_attr('sensor.telefon', 'with') }})
        {% endif %}

Could someone help?

Thanks,

Jaques-Ludwig

Sleepiq integration or maybe flow knowledge

@wfsteadman wrote:

Greetings all, So this might be a very simple question, it is about where to find information in HA. I just went and added my sleepiq to my configuration.yaml and the only options I had were:
sleepiq: username: YOUR_USERNAME password: YOUR_PASSWORD
I filled it out, checked my configureation and restarted
but I get a message on the left side that says: The following integrations and platforms could not be set up:

when checking the log I see it says:
2020-03-07 08:40:28 ERROR (SyncWorker_18) [homeassistant.components.sleepiq]
SleepIQ failed to login, double check your username and password"

2020-03-07 08:40:29 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.setup] Setup failed for sleepiq: Integration failed to initialize.

I have validated the username and password are correct by going to https://www.sleepnumber.com/ and logging in successfully. I even added quotes and double quotes to the entries in the configuration file.

Google has not been my friend on this one, so decided to come here.

on the sleepiq HA page (https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/sleepiq/), it is very limited in the information that it gives so I am thinking I might be missing something

I am fairly new to Home Assistant and it just might be that I am missing some part of the configuration flow… if that is the case I would ask if you can point me in a direction that might get me better educated (watching lots of Youtube videos for sure)

Automation: sensor changed time off by an hour

Hi,

I have a front door camera that I trigger to take a snapshot when movement by a PIR sensor is detect. I use the date and time of the change of the pir sensor in the filename, so that I have a history of images. However, there is one problem. The timestamp is off by 1 hour. I live in UTC+1 so I understand where it comes from. Although Hass used the correct date and time.

How do I update my automation, so that the time is actually correct? Who can help me?

My plan is to use a Aqara Vibration Sensor to act as a garage door sensor for status Open/Closed.

The idea is to use the orientation. If someone has a better way please share both idea and code please. :slight_smile:

So far I have managed to get a template sensor for the orientation that returns the value: [0, 1, -89]

  - platform: template
    sensors:
      vibration_6_orientation:
        value_template: '{{ states.binary_sensor.vibration_6.attributes.orientation }}'
        friendly_name: 'Vibration Sensor Orientation'

Now I am trying to split the value template and just get -89 back but I can’t seem to get it correct with the syntax.

Any help would be appreciated? :smiley:

Hi Guys,

Lately I have been experiencing some random crashes of my Home Assistant docker container. Whenever it crashes, my Hassio docker container and all other (add-on) containers are still running. I tried to check the logging for possible errors, but I don’t see any critical errors or warning errors that I think might cause the crash. Do you guys maybe have any advice for debugging this issue?
The logging I get, can be found in the added image.

At this specific day, I noticed the crash around 14:00 when I tried to login with my mobile app. At 18:45 I checked my Raspberry Pi 4 docker containers and noticed the Home Assistant container crashed. I rebooted my RPi and everything worked again.

Thanks in advance!

Styling the actual image of a type:image in a picture-elements card

@scottsweb wrote:

I am putting together a rather complicated UI using the picture-elements card in Lovelace. Within the picture-elments card I have a number of image elements, for example:

- type: image
  camera_image: camera.backdoor
  style:
    left: 55.18%

The styles appear to be applying to the container of the image, so adding something like border-radius: 50% doesn’t actually apply to the image itself, it applies to the container. This is an example with a border and border-radius and background-color:

Screenshot 2020-03-07 at 20.22.34

You can see the actual image maintains its original look and feel.

Does anyone have an example of targeting the image itself with styles? I would like to apply some specific formatting to the image, not just the container.

Commandline sensor failed to load python script

@dibyadip wrote:

Hi all,
I am new to the HomeAssistant world. I am trying to setup a command line sensor using python script and I have run out of luck.

I was referring to the Integrations page and this post. This is what I am trying to achieve.

Here is a glimpse of my config file

sensors:
 - platform: command_line
   name: test_sensors
   json_attributes:
      - total_cases
      - total_cases_india
      - error
   value_template: "{{ value_json['total_cases_india'] }}"
   unit_of_measurement: "int"
   command: 'python3 print("{\"total_cases\": \""+ str(12) +"\", \"total_cases_india\": \""+str(14)+"\"\", \"error\": \""+str(False)+"\"}")'
   scan_interval: 2`

Here are the issues I am facing:

  1. instead of print command I want to put a path to python file. I tried all different options but I cannot figure out where should I put my script and how to build the path.
  2. using SSL even on bash I tried both python and python3 command. Unfortunately, both of them didn’t work.

I also tried the python_script way but it didn’t work either as imports don’t work.

Can anybody please help me run .py files?

Hello,
I want to send the value of the sensor by mqtt_publish to my domoticz server. This will very usefull for me.

Now i create a automation with mqtt_publish service and works if I send a number value like this:

payload: '{ "command": "udevice", "idx": 174, "nvalue": 0, "svalue": "59"}'
topic: domoticz/in

If i launch this automation it works great and push the “59” value in my device throught mqtt.

But i want to use the value of a sensor: “sensor.weight”.

How can i do this?? its important respect the quotes or it will not works :frowning:

thanks a lot for the support!

Device_tracker: ignoring old position updates (from Life360)

$

@mikeage wrote:

Hi,

I currently use the Life360 integration to track a bunch of phones, but I’d like to ignore old reports. By that, I mean when the user has not connected to life360 for a while (perhaps their phone is off, out of service, etc). The docs mention a parameter that can be used to trigger when no update has been received:

max_update_wait

(time)(Optional)

If specified and Life360 does not provide an update for a member within that maximum time window, an event named life360_update_overdue will be fired with the entity_id of the corresponding member’s device_tracker entity. Once an update does come, an event named life360_update_restored will be fired with the entity_id of the corresponding member’s device_tracker entity and another data item named wait that will indicate the amount of time spent waiting for the update. You can use these events in automations to be notified when they occur.

There’s a sample there with sending a notification, but I’d really rather mark the device_tracker.life360_foo as unavailable or unknown or even a generic not_home (since, while they may be in the place reported, they might not as well, and we should fall back to a different device tracker if present for the person).

Is there any way to do this? It’s probably more of a generic device tracker question than specific for Life360, but this was the only one I found that even exposed “old” reports, so maybe not…

Thanks

Triggering an automation when a state has been *from* (not "to") for X time

$

@mikeage wrote:

Hi,
I want to trigger an automation whenever my device_tracker has been not home for a certain amount of time. The following does not work, because from: apparently doesn’t work with for:

automation:
  trigger:
    platform: state
    entity_id: device_tracker.foo
    from: "home"
    for: "00:10:00"

I can’t use to: "not_home" (which does work with for:), because I have device trackers that report zones, and I’d rather not list all of my zones in the to: field (and in any case, if they’re moving between two zones, or between a zone and the generic not_home, I’d like to combine the times when counting how long they’ve been away from home).

Any advice?
