State of one entity depending on other 2 entities

First of all, thank you to this great community. I have HA for 2 years and it is the first time I need to write a post (because all the information is there!)

My set up:

  1. A synology running a docker container with HA and mainly tasmotized sonoffs
  2. I have an electric valve that controls whether I use the hot water coming from the solar energy system or from the water heater. I control that with 2 relays of a sonoff 4CH Pro with tasmota
  3. I have an automation that every time the temperature of the water in the solar system goes below 35 degrees it switches the relay to move the valve and use the boiler (and switches it off after 30 seconds) and if it goes above 35 it switches the other relay to move the valve in the other direction.

My 2 problems

  1. I want to know when I am using the solar or the electric system in a given moment. I thought that I could create a new entity that would capture when each of the relays goes to ON but I do not know if this is possible (or even if it is a good idea)

  2. The automation is triggered every time the sensor updates the temperature. How can I trigger the automation just when the temperature crosses 35 degrees in one or other direction?

WebOSTV could not be set up

FGR223 Does not work at all :(

Homeassistant user password unknown

Camera feed in Notification

Hue Dimmer With Conbee II Automation Unreliable

I built a few automations using the Home Assistant GUI so that I could turn on the living room lamp (IKEA Trafri) with one press of the ‘on’ button, and the ceiling lights (3 x Lifx) with a second press, the ‘off’ button performing the reverse. The dimmer buttons are configured to adjust the brightness of whatever is switched on at the time.

This works really nicely a lot of the time, but sometimes the automations fail to trigger when I press the buttons. When I use the event listener subscribed to ‘deconz_event’, I can see that every single button press is being registered (and pretty much instantly). However, they are reporting event codes of ‘1002’ and ‘4002’ for example, while the automations I built with the GUI are based on triggers such as this:

I’m wondering why these triggers aren’t activating when the dimmer continues to report event ids.

Play a local playlist on google home

  • Play the playlist on any other player (eg. Kodi?) and stream that to google home (which would mean the other player needs to be running as well
  • Somehow create a script in home assistant that will send one file after another to the google chrome (how to do this? Is this even worth it?)
  • Other ideas?

Sensor command_line value template is wrong

I would have hoped to see the state to be ‘On’ right now, since this is the output of the full value_json:

ZHA Lights Turning on Randomly?

Anyone have any insight as to what’s going on? I can’t imagine my neighbors are too pleased. LOL!

How to migrate Z-Wave devices to new HASS server?

Can't remove integration

Using Statistics Sensor for measuring Power Consumtion (Tasmota Sensors)

Here I have some questions:

  1. “count” starts out at 60, how can there be 60 values before the source value even changed once, it even calculated a sum by multiplying the source by 60… that makes no sense
  2. Sometimes the source value will show 0 for a short time because of a reset or something, how can I prevent that from beeing sampled?
  3. Does the statistics sensor calculate the timespan of the values? If I have 0 for 4 hours and 1 for 1 hour is the mean 0.5 or 0.2?
  4. Am I doing it completely wrong?^^

If I run the commands from the ssh terminal plugin it works just fine…

How to place devices in area (0.107)
