Signal messenger: read events somehow?

$

Hi everybody,

I use the signal_messenger integration to send notifications to multiple recipients. This works fine.

However, unlike the telegram integration, I don’t see an option to listen to events. Is this possible somehow? Below are the events I can work with

I have a “DND mode”, in which I don’t want to receive notifications. There is no way to automate this through signal messenger. So I was planning to listen to particular signal groups for any incoming messages. If there are any, I want to return something like “Please no messages at the moment” as a reply to the group until dnd mode is off.

(apparently, asking people not to write messages -unless important- between x and y oclock is not an option, as they don't care. This way, at least they'd be notified NOT to message :D ; kinda stupid, but I haven't found a good way to do this - and am not looking for an alternative atm, so hopefully there is a way to do this via event`).

Thank you in advance for your help

I just can’t finde the error in this script. It works in developer tools.

Could this be because the sensor is not instantly available at start (MQTT) or why do I get this error?
How can I avoid this?

RFXCOM - access to somfy cover IDs

$

Hello, I am moving to a new Home Assistant build (upgrading hardware… yay!). Previously I had set up somfy blinds in yaml and then RFXCOM made its amazing transition to the GUI integrations and the yaml codes for the blinds were cleaned up and its worked rock solid since.

I really want to start on a clean install after too much tinkering, does anyone know if you can access the device IDs from the config so i can paste the directly into the GUI? I renamed them to be more helpful. I searched high and low through the documentation and the config and I am either a numpty or its tricky to find… rather not have to go back and create if i can avoid it.

Thanking you for reading (hopefull helping) this!

Severe Insteon Lag

$

So Ive got to say, HA has been a lifesaver for my Insteon wired home. And the fact it’s integrating with all my other smart crap is the icing on the cake.

However I’ve noticed that a lot of the time when I flip an Insteon device on/off with HA that sometimes it can take upwards of 45 seconds for the action to actually take place. Sometimes it’s instant.

I’m thinking maybe my Insteon hub is rebooting since it can’t find home base anymore maybe? And just wondering if anyone else has seen this issue yet?

Homematic IP WRCC2 and Home Assistant - no entity for the switches!

$

Hi there,

I have a HmIP WRCC2, the very flat WLAN Switch, that can be glued on a wall.
I added it to the HmIP-App (Android Smartphone) and a few montents later I was in the devices of the integration ‘Homematic IP’. But there is only a binary-sensor for the battery and nothing for the two switches!
I have only a Homematic IP Access-Point, no CCU.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Curtain/cover motor controller as light. How to control it from HA?

$
0
0

I added the Sunricher SR-ZG9080A curtain motor controller to my Zigbee network with a Conbee II stick. In the Deconz app this device is recognized as a dimmable lamp, so it is in HA and Phoscon. In HA you can use the brightness slider to open, close and stop the cover:
brightness percentage 0-30: close
brightness percentage 31-70: stop
brightness percentage 71-100: open

I used a Template Cover to translate it to a Cover in HA:

cover:
  - platform: template
    covers:
      cover_pui:
        device_class: shutter
        friendly_name: 'Rolluik Schuifpui'
        open_cover:
          service : light.turn_on
          data:
            entity_id: light.rolluik_pui
            brightness_pct: 99
        close_cover:
          service : light.turn_on
          data:
            entity_id: light.rolluik_pui
            brightness_pct: 1
        stop_cover:
          service : light.turn_on
          data:
            entity_id: light.rolluik_pui
            brightness_pct: 50

This is working. I can open, close and stop the cover. The problem is, in HA I cannot see the position of the cover, nor I can move the cover to a specific position. This is because HA sees the cover controller as a light. Moving the cover to a specific position should be done in Zigbee cluster 0102 and is not part of the light clusters. In Deconz all information about position and the controls are available. I can move the cover to a specific position from the Deconz app. So it should be possible from HA. Can anyone tell me how I could control cluster 0102 from HA?

Cluster 0008 (Level Control) is actually brightness but is being used for up/down/stop. In this screenshot the attributes from cluster 0102 are shown. I want to control the “Go to lift percentage” and the “Read” function to get the current position from HA.

Issue with Sonoff Zigbee devices and battery charge

$

Hi, I have various Sonoff Zigbee devices which I’ve purchased at different times. The earlier ones show me the battery charge where as the later ones show me power at 100%.
Taking the PIR sensors, I have two SNZB-03 and the one that works says model 66666 whereas the one that shows power at 100% says model MS01. I can’t find any other differences. Can I do something to reconfigure the latter to make it report battery charge?
I have a similar issue with the TH01 thermometers but in this case the models are identical and I don’t see any differences.

I’m running HASS on a Raspberry Pi and a USB dongle CC1352/CC2652, Z-Stack 3.30+ (build 20201026) by Texas Instruments
Everything is up to date on the latest production versions.

Thanks

Donald

Modify/delete legacy schedules in Insteon Hub?

$

I’m new to the Home Assistant community due to the shuttering of Insteon. I’m up and running with a Raspberry Pi, but have some legacy schedules in the Insteon hub for some of my lights. Is there a way to delete those schedules so that I can recreate and edit them in Home Assistant? My assumption is that I cannot edit the schedules that are in the Insteon Hub any longer so I would like to delete them and recreate them in Home Assistant so that I will be able to edit as needed in the future. Thanks.

Harmony Hub Templating Command data attribute?

I am building a remote using ha-floorplan and would like to have a button which steps through a list of surround modes and sets the amplifier to that mode. Things are going OK until I try and template the command so I am looking for some help with this last step.

input_select:
  surround_mode:
    name: "Amplifier Surround Mode"
    options:
      - Sci-Fi
      - Movie
      - Music
      - DspMovie
      - DspMusic
    initial: Sci-Fi
script:
  change_surround_mode:
alias: "Change Rumpus Amp Surround Mode"
    sequence:
      - service: input_select.select_next
        target:
          entity_id: input_select.surround_mode
      - service: remote.send_command
        data_template:
          entity_id: remote.rumpus_harmony_hub
          command: {{states.input_select.surround_mode.state}}
          device: Main Zone

In the template editor all is well but in am getting this error:
invalid key: "OrderedDict([('states.input_select.surround_mode.state', None)])" in "/config/packages/media.yaml", line 305, column 0

How to backup config on HA Core 2021.9.7 (synocommunity package)?

$

Hi, I have naively installed HA as a core version on my synology NAS, however as is normal for core install it lacks supervisor, which I miss. So I installed a new instance of HAOS in the Synology VMM manager, which features supervisor. Reason I want this is that most doc available is for supervisor installations.
So I need to migrate. I tried to add a backup integration in HA Core but nothing works, even editing configuration.yaml and adding “backup:”
So:

  1. Is it at all possible to add a config backup to the HA Core? and how?
  2. is it possible, when doing a tarball (using the tar command, which is a synology version of the linux tar) of the HA core config folder to feed that to HAOS (upon starting it up) without destroying this new instance?
    Thanks for any help!

Some Insteon Devices Not Responding

$

I’ve successfully connected my Insteon hub, 245, with HA and it discovered several devices and they operate as expected. Some it wouldn’t, I reset the switches that were affected and they show up now. The problem is they don’t respond to switch operation on the HA page. In some cases they show on when light isn’t on and if I click it off on HA page, the graphic shows the switch going off for a few seconds then it switches back. Some act just the opposite. All the while the affected light doesn’t do anything in response to HA input. Other switches operate normally. I have restarted the HA, unplugged the Insteon hub with no improvement. I did notice that even with the hub unpowered, when I toggle the switch on the HA page it acts the same as if hub were powered and on and toggles back the whatever position it was in after a few seconds. Any idea what I can do? thanks

Entity completion not working in Visual Studio Code

$

I have HA running in Docker on Synology NAS box. I installed the Visual Studio Code on my PC. I added the config helper extension. I hooked up the extension to my HA on the NAS. I can see and open and save config yaml files. And the various parts work in VS Code. However, the part I wanted most doesn’t work. Autocompletion of entity ids. It says, “No suggestions”.

I also see an error:

Error connecting to your Home Assistant Server at http://mydomain:8123 and token 'eyJ0e...',
check your network or update your VS Code Settings, make sure to (also) check your workspace settings!
Error:SyntaxError: The URL's protocol must be one of "ws:", "wss:", or "ws+unix:"

I don’t know what that is trying to tell me. Anybody have a clue?
