ONFIV with HeimVison Camera

$

Hey,

maybe someone can help me…
I have a Heimvison Camera and i want to add the onvif stream to home assistant.
But it simply doesent work

The 3 IP i have from ISpy : http://192.168.178.126/onvif/device_service rtsp://192.168.178.126:554/0/av0 (Streaming URL 1) | rtsp://192.168.178.126:554/0/av1 (Streaming URL 2)

To add the Camera i used the Onvif Integration
it cant find the Camera automatic…

when I enter
-Name: Camera_jgu
-Host: 192.168.178.126
-Port: 80
-Username and Passwort I leave empty

than it succesfully added the Camera and i have a Preview of the stream, but when i open it, it doesn’t show a video stream and the “substream” dosent work at all

when I enter
-Name: Camera_jgu
-Host: 192.168.178.126
-Port: 554
-Username and Passwort i leave empty

then an Unknown error eccurred

If I use MotionEye, in Homeassistant, the Error Message comes “An error occourred. Refreshing is recommended”
But if I use MotionEye running on a Unraid Server it work’s

I would be very grateful if someone could help me

Can I delete insteon hub groups that aren't 0 and 1?

$

My insteon hub had scenes and schedules. After Insteon went belly up, those scehdules and scenes were still working. I’ve powered off and on the hub several times. The schedules still seemed to be working. But now, I THINK they have stopped. But maybe they are just doing things at the wrong time and lost connection to time servers or something. I’m not sure.

So I want to do is just delete the stuff that is Insteon. But of course, we don’t have access to the scenes and schedules (why couldn’t Insteon have just told us they were going away and let the app run for a little longer to allow us migration time?).

To clean up the Insteon box, I thought maybe I could go through each of my devices in the new Insteon Panel, then go to the All Links database UI and delete every group that is 0 and 1. I THINK those two numbers are for the device communicating to the hub and for the hub to communicate to the device. And I think the other group numbers are scenes and/or schedules. or maybe the scheduler will just keep running, but the devices won’t respond to the scenes because the scheduler won’t find the groups.

The only exception to this is that I have a few switches that are paired to each other. So those I would not want to delete (assuming they are in the all links database), but if I do, I can just recreate them manually.

Does anyone know if this strategy should work before I “fix” all 40 devices?

p.s.
I’m too scared to just reset the Insteon box and HOPE that HA still works as it has for other people.

Energy Dash telling me I'm using 9.3M kWh/day after 2022.5 upgrade

$

I just upgraded from 2022.2 to 2022.5 (running in Docker on an RPi), and I’ve just noticed that my Energy usage dashboard is telling me I’m using about $1.5M CAD in power each and every day…

image

Oddly, the sensors seem to be providing proper values. I have an Iotawatt hooked up, using the integration, and the values being provided by it, and being recorded into HA, seem correct. And although the breakdown of components (kitchen, heat pump, etc) are all wildly incorrect, they’ve maintained their proportions in relation to each other… heat pump 1.5x hot water heater, etc.

I’m tracking a value “sensor.total_mains_wh_accumulated” exported from the Iotawatt. It has attributes like:

state_class: total
last_reset: 2022-05-08T10:09:30
type: Output
last_update: 2022-05-08T13:10:00+00:00
unit_of_measurement: Wh
device_class: energy
friendly_name: Total_Mains.wh Accumulated

Current value: 3401268.0

This is somewhat close to the solid wall of values my Energy Usage panel is showing:

But I’ve just noticed what looks to be a new sensor, “sensor.total_mains_wh”, and it has:

state_class: total
last_reset: 2022-05-08T00:00:00
type: Output
unit_of_measurement: Wh
device_class: energy
friendly_name: Total_Mains.wh

… whch seems identical except for the lack of last_update.

Am I tracking the wrong sensor value in my Energy dash? Was something new added in 2022.5?

The values in Energy Usage are hugely wrong, but consistently hugely wrong… it’s like it’s taking my ACTUAL energy usage and adding 3.5M to it each hour.

I’m not sure where to even start with this. I was getting correct values before the upgrade to 2022.5, and beyond upgrading HACS and a few frontend cards, I’ve changed nothing else.

Config.yaml and all config files gone

$

Hello,
I’m new to the community and have had hassio for about over a year now and haven’t had a huge problem until now.

Everything seems to work ok even the groups I created in config groups. Only error I got was a constant z-wave js integration error, regardless of the hassio version (started this yr). I tried to dive into the fix and found that all of my config files and folders are gone…

Not sure how everything is still running but my file editor is completely empty. I’ve tried digging to why, restoring last yr os and core but nothing. I can’t seem to figure this out. Hopefully it’s bc I missed something and it’s not a major issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated it.

Thanks.

How to access scene definition in template/script/automation

$
0
0

Hi folks,

I was wondering if there is any chance to access the to be-state of an entity from a scene via template to be used in an automation or a script.

Background: Let’s say I have a scene dusk that defines the position of window covers to give some privacy when it starts to become darker outside. In my current set-up, this scene is activated by an outdoor light sensor. Now imagine that I already manually closed one of the covers completely. The activation of the scene would open the cover “again”. Hence, I’d like to write a template the only updates the state of the cover in case the current position is higher than the one defined in the scene. You could say a “activate scene but only move the covers down, never up” kind of script.

Thanks,
Rags

Hi I’m using sonoff 3.0 zigbee stick and I was running mqtt on it it worked pretty well.
Until I changed the zigbee channel. Ever since then it has giving me an error.

I have reflashed the sonofff stick, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the zigbee2mqtt and mosquitto. I followed various different ways to set up mqtt in home assistant but none of them work for me anymore.

I have attached the log. Do you know what the problem may be?

Alarm Decoder Help

$

0

I have the Alarm Decoder appliance online and wired into my PC1864 keybus. I also have a TR5164 wireless receiver to communicate with the 50 wireless sensors that were in the house prior to purchasing that used to paired with a DSC Impassa system. The TR5164 module is detected, and option 8 is on in section 101.

Is the Alarm Decoder integration supposed to be a “one stop shop” for adding all my wireless devices? As it stands, I’ve tried adding Zone 01 shown below, and nothing shows up in HA. It’s also redundantly setup in my 1864 panel, so not sure if that influences anything.

In case it does, I setup Zone 02 (which is NOT setup in my panel), but still no entities/devices show up in HA for that zone. What process do I need to follow to integrate sensors?

Zone 01 - https://i.imgur.com/l4dEdBr.png

Zone 02 - https://i.imgur.com/tiY7lap.png

If the HA alarm decoder integration is smart enough to simplify the process otherwise needing to be done at the panel. Wow - that’d be awesome if it works. Trying to understand how this DSC/Alarm Decoder/HA matrix is supposed to all magically work, and getting frustrated. I’m about to go with the rtl433 route as much of a struggle it has been to get even one sensor added :frowning:

Local_file (update image path/image)

$

Hi!

I’m trying to update a “local_file” camera image with a template.
This is how my “local_file” look like:

camera:
  #################################
  # Aircraft Latest Seen airplane #
  #################################
  - platform: local_file
    file_path: http://192.168.1.10/path/path/aircraft_images/{{state_attr('sensor.aircraft_info_nearest_plane_data','icao24')}}.jpg
    name: Aircaft Last Seen Plane image

And the path is updated when a automation is triggered:

service: local_file.update_file_path
data:
  file_path: >-
    http://192.168.1.10/path/path/aircraft_images/{{state_attr('sensor.aircraft_info_nearest_plane_data','icao24')}}.jpg
  entity_id: camera.aircaft_last_seen_plane_image

But the logs say:

Logger: homeassistant.components.local_file.camera
Source: components/local_file/camera.py:103
Integration: local_file (documentation, issues)
First occurred: 17:58:32 (14 occurrences)
Last logged: 18:44:50

Could not read camera Aircaft Last Seen Plane image image from file: http://192.168.1.10/path/path/aircraft_images/4ab565.jpg

The file is there… What should I look for, any tips?

Stuck setting up Peak / Off-Peak Electricity tariff

$

Struggling with getting Peak / Off-Peak rate set up for Electricity Meter. All topics so far have directed to ‘Utility Meter’, I have gone through the set-up of Utility Meter several times but I can’t see where the enter the rate for each tariff - or the times each are valid.

At the end of setting up Utility Meter, I have three new entities:
select.electricity_meter, sensor.electricity_meter_off_peak & sensor.electricity_meter_peak.

I was expecting to enter the tariff rate and the hours to which it applies, but have not found this.

I can see that there is automation YAML in the Utility Meter help page for defining times for each tariff, I get an error when I try and paste this in as YAML though. Can’t see in any of the documentation where you provide a rate for each tariff.

Any help appreciated.

Smooth out sensor (update less frequently)?

$

I have a smart plug for my Automower, to be able to tell what it is doing based on the watt used.

  • Less then 1w = Parked - waiting for schedule to start
  • Between 2 and 4 watts = Cutting grass
  • Above 4w = Charging

It works well (and has been) for a while, but when I view the History of the sensor, there are small gaps where the state changes, since the watts change for 30 seconds or so:

Is there a way to decrease the update of the sensor or another way to smooth out and have it update less frequently?

The code used:

  - name: "kajsa_klipper"
    unique_id: "Kajsa klipper"
    state: >
      {% set kajsa = states('sensor.shelly_s_kajsa_power')|round(0) %}
      {% if kajsa < 1 %}
        Chillar
      {% elif kajsa > 2 and kajsa < 4 %}
        Klipper
      {% else %}
        Laddar
      {% endif %}

Incorporating Data from PiHole PADD

$

As I’m sure many are aware, PiHole has an addon called PADD. It’s a monitor for your PiHole server accessed through SSH. Specifically: ~ $ ./padd.sh.

image

From digging I’ve done, there isn’t any API specific to PADD that is available (yes, I’m aware of the standard PiHole API and Integration).

I’d love love LOVE to have this available in Home Assistant to some degree. Perhaps having an automation/script fetch this information via SSH? Or even have have my linux mint machine run padd.sh and continuously upload an image of the window to HA, and I could create a Generic Camera to monitor it? I’m in brainstorm mode here, so anything anyone’s got would be of interest.

Thanks in advance!

Energy integration from Tasmota SML (Json encoded data via MQTT)

$

Hello everyone,
I just got my electric meter connected to a hitchi IR Head (German page). Basicly it’s tasmota running on a ESP8266 with IR Head. This is working fine so far, I installed mosquitto MQTT broker on HA and receive the json encoded MQTT information from the sensor. Example:

{
    "Time": "2022-05-08T19:35:38",
    "SML": {
        "Total_in": 15739.95,
        "Total_out": 0,
        "Power_curr": 538,
        "Volt_p1": 227.3,
        "Volt_p2": 229.3,
        "Volt_p3": 229.3,
        "Ampere_p1": 2.1,
        "Ampere_p2": 1,
        "Ampere_p3": 0.8,
        "Freq": 50
    }
}

Now i would like to include this information to the enery integration of HA. Could anyone give me a hint what’s the best practise to do so?
Thanks :slight_smile:

Logbook entries missing

I observed recently that status reporting on my Ikea motion sensors has become pretty weird. The current status does not seem to be logged in the Logbook anymore. Tried to restart the HA, and also reboot the host. Not helping. As an example you can see in the screenshot below that the state changed some 13 minutes ago, while the last logbook entry is from 14 hours ago:

Any idea what is going on and how to fix it…?

Custom Energy Monitor for Peak / Off-Peak Electricity Rates

$
0
0

Hi All,

I’ve found a few bits and pieces relating to this, but I’m looking for some advice on whether I’m on the right track, or if there are any better ways of achieving what I’m trying to do…

For a bit of background: I am in the UK and have the Octopus Go smart tariff. My rates are 0.0748p per kWh between 00:30 and 04:30 and 0.3061p per kWh outside of this. I’m hoping to set up a dashboard that tracks usage costs (I assume every 30 mins is about right) throughout the day, resetting at midnight and keeping a sum of usage costs per week, month and year.

I’ve been using the Bright Hildebrand Glow app and integrated that into HA. But, I have been having a battle with Octopus, as I cannot get the off peak rate to report between 00:30 until 04:30. I’m just seeing a flat rate of 0.3061p per kWh all day and night. The team at Bright have assured me that other customers with Octopus Go are succesfully seeing their rates switch to the off peak cost during off peak times and I have been going back and forth with Octopus support for months now and getting nowhere. So…

I’m wondering if I’d be able to use what I have so far to create something custom. So far, I have an accurate and up to date consumption report and the daily standing charge via the sensors that were added with the Hildebrand Glow DCC add-on. I have also added the following template sensor for the current Octopus Go rate, thanks to a forum post from community members:

sensor:
  - platform: template
    sensors:
      octopus_go:
        friendly_name: Octopus Go Current Rate
        unit_of_measurement: GBP/kWh
        value_template: >
          {% set tariff = { "HT": 0.3061, "LT": 0.0748 } %}
          {% if ((30 <= (now().hour * 100) + now().minute <= 430)) %}
            {{ tariff.LT }}
          {% else %}
            {{ tariff.HT }}
          {% endif %}

I guess what I’m trying to do now is tie this all together into some kind of dashboard that can multiply the current consumption by the currrent rate each time the consumption is updated (and then add the standing charge on top). I’d then hope for it to reset at midnight and be able to keep a weekly/monthly/annual track of it all.

Firstly, would that be possible to do? Second, is there a better way to achieve this same thing. Perhaps with the Octopus API?

Ideally, I’d end up with a better version of the IHD that Octopus supplied - one that works with smart tariffs.

Thanks in advance…
