Problem connecting to Homematic Hmip-BRC2 Switch

@topse wrote:

Hi,
I am trying to connect to a HMIP-BRC2-Switch from Homematic. The pymatic-Library seems to support it. The CCU2, which was installed as Container in Hassio, has recognized the Switch and tests are succesful.

I also have created “Dummy-Programms” in the CCU, as described here: Homematic Switch (HMIP-WRC2)

But the switch is not showing up in entities of Home Assistant.

I have testet with a temperature sensor from Homematic – the temperature sensor works and is available within the Home Assistant Entities, so in principle the connection between Home Assistant and Homematic seems to work.

Does anyone have a hint what to do?

Thanks and Best Regards,
Tobias

Configuration with Denon AVR 2113 (automation & script maybe)

Hi!

I have denon avr-2113 which is now visible at HA.

media_player:

    name: Denon
    show_all_sources: true
    timeout: 2
    zones:
      - zone: Zone2
        name: Sauna

I am really noob with HA and especially what comes to the automation & scripts.

What I’d like to achieve (to help my wife especially) is create automation / script which:

By pressing button:

Denon zone 2 (sauna) is powered on, input is selected CD (where is Chromecast audio (media_player.oleskelutila)). Then it is easy to push audio from phone to sauna’s speakers.

Anybody could help?

Partial Switch to Light

@DemonAngel44 wrote:

I have a number of Sonoff T0 US 3 Channel switches installed across the hours that is running Tasmota 8.3.1.

A few of these channels are not actually connected to any lights (nothing linked on the relay) and I use these switches to control other items for example the bathroom fan, another one switches the existing kitchen light (second switch setup) and even use one to open and close my gate.

What I am stuggling with is to classify only some of the channels in a 3 channel T0 as lights. For the switches that I only use for lights, I used the tasmota SetOptions30 1 command but this seems to be an all or nothing command.

From the following image, how to I classify the lights as lights but leave the switches as is. (then they are coming from the same Sonoff T0)

One more thing that I found if that if I leave the Device Name field populated, homeassistant will append the device name to the switch name and you’ll end up with “Sun Room Light Kitchen Switch 2” which is a bit of a mouth full for Alexa to handle. Is there a way of populating the Device Name field but have homeassistant ignore it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Select panel based on room presence / internal positioning

Hi,

I have a dashboard for each of my rooms, which only shows the stuff relevant for that room.
I also have FIND setup which tracks my position inside the house.

What I would like to do is to automatically show the dashboard for the room I’m in.
Do you know if something like this is possible? I can program something myself, so I guess all I need is a way to tell home-assistant to switch the dashboard for a certain user’s front-end.

Influxdb: write to db only every

Hi everybody,

I used to have influxdb set up like this

influxdb:
  host: !secret influxdb_host
  port: !secret influxdb_host
  database: !secret influxdb_database
  username: !secret influxdb_username
  password: !secret influxdb_password
  ssl: false

  max_retries: 3
  default_measurement: state

  include:
    entities:
    # (...)
    domains:
    # (...)

  tags:
    instance: prod
    source: hass

This does exactly what it should for, let’s say binary_sensor / input_boolean entities. Their status changes, it gets logged. However, when I have something like sensor.temperature_printer (in this case, a DS18B20 on ESPHome), the state might change by the minute (or even 6 times per minute or so), which generates a lot of data.

Is there a way to limit this? I am looking for something in the likes of

# (...)
  include:
    entities:
      - entity: sensor.tempearature_printer
        interval: 2m # / 120s
        only_on_change: true

This is arbitrary yaml, but what I mean is: for entity sensor.temperature_printer log value every 2m; if value has not changed, don’t log it (otherwise do log it).

Prior to ESPHome, I had every single sensor integrated via zigbee2mqtt, so I could just let node-red take care of this; however, I don’t think it is the best solution to generate automations to send changes from the ESPHome entities to mqtt just so that node-red can work with them. There ought to be a better solution. Is there and I just missed it?

Thank you for your ideas

No way to install tensorflow into homeassistant on raspberry pi 4

@Petengy wrote:

Following the official guide it was not possible (to me) to install tensorflow in home assistant.

Here my system conf:
Raspberry pi 4 model B – 4GB RAM – CPU Cortex A-72 – Architecture ARM
ASSOS 3.13
Home Assistant: 0110.1
Python vers. (Python3): 3.8.2
PIP3 versione: 20.1.1
Virtualenv version: 20.0.21

I was able to install the integration files and the model but tensorflow, through the pip install installation (env environment), is not successful.

The message is more or less always the same: " ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement tensorflow (from versions: none)

ERROR: No matching distribution found for tensorflow "

I followed various guides and information on the net for about 3 days but without success. I have come to the conclusion that the problem could the lack of a wheel configured for rasperry pi 4 and python 3.8.

I ask for help to confirm this, and to suggest (if I’m right) a revision of the official guide.

…or, alternatively, I ask you some help to correctly install tensorflow on my system.

I thank everyone and wish you a good HA-job.

Ilya Kirov (kirovilya on GitHub) has released source code for building Z-Stack 3.0 Zigbee 3.0 firmware for Texas Instruments CC2530 based devices with support for a single relay and external sensors, currently tested for Sonoff BASICZBR3 and a DS18B20 1-wire temperature sensor.

As far as I know, this is a first as Sonoff BASICZBR3 (Zigbee version of Sonoff BASIC R3 by ITead) is based on a CC2530 Zigbee module and Texas Instruments officially only released Z-Stack Home 1.2 core for it which only support ZHA 1.2 (Zigbee Home Automation 1.2) stack.

You’ll find source code on GitHub (requires Texas Instruments development software to compile):

Huawei LTE integration is filling up DB

I was checking what has caused my DB to grow and ran queries to DB with SQLite Web addon. I ran following query to find out that top 13 of my all entries in states -table are from Huawei LTE integration.

select entity_id,count(*) from states group by entity_id order by count(*) desc limit 100;

Largest amount of records is device tracers for our tablets that are almost always at home. They have bit more than 58 000 records. I have set recorder for 7 days and purging seems to be working just fine.

It seems to log every 10s that device is home. Even if that hasn’t changed. Only thing that changes in ‘attributes’ column is associated_time.

Is there something I can do about it? Naturally I could exclude theses from recorder, but that seems to be silly solution. I was about to raise a github issue about it but opted to ask here first.

I found another thread with what looks like the same problem:

https://community.home-assistant.io/t/help-amateur-here-cant-access-frontend/110480

This points to “a syntax problem in my storage/core.entity_registry”. I’ve looked and can’t find anything suspicious there.

Another poster recommended removing core.entity_registry, core.device_registry and core.config_entries, which I tried. That didn’t help either.

By stripping down my groups.yaml file to bare minimum and restarting I can get HA to show me Lovelace with just the alarm panel, but then if I reload the browser it goes back to the error message.

I realize I’m way behind in upgrading but the system was stable and I didn’t want to introduce any risk. Now it seems I’m hosed. Can anyone recommend any way out of this?

Rpi4 with Aeotec zwave - device name change without power cycle

@ecologicalSlinky wrote:

I’m new to HA and still learning. I have the Aeotec Z-Stick Gen5 with a raspberry pi 4 (connected to a 4 port USB 2 Sabrent hub). I have setup a single switch from my prior z-wave network (excluded from other network, included in HA through the panel). That works, for a short period of time (sometimes as much as 45 minutes). I am using Raspbian with a “Home Assistant Core on Docker” setup.

I’ve experienced (and read) about the persistent name issues with this stick, so I have setup to use (/dev/serial/by-id/usb-0658_0200-if00) which does work. In my docker-compose, I was mapping just the USB device itself, but then changed to expose all (- /dev:/dev) for testing.

My problem, though, seems that the setup stops working when the dev name changes (like from ACM0 to ACM1). I’m not sure why it would have changed (no power loss, using a stock raspberry pi USB-C power source). My guess would be that when the device changes from ACM0 to ACM1, my session to the original device is no longer valid (even though I reference it by-id). Is that possible? Do I have something screwed up in my rpi4 that might cause it to re-detect the devices?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’ve done lots of searching, but it seems most people have success using the by-id persistent name.

For reference, my zwave log ends up with:

Default values for script parameters?

$

@quentinsf wrote:

I’m delighted to see that scripts can take parameters using the ‘fields’ clause. Each parameter can be given a description and an example value.

It would be very nice to set defaults for the parameter values there, too, I think. At present you can handle defaults to some degree with a Jinja filter. Here’s my little trial script:

parameter_test:
  alias: Parameter test
  fields:
    number:
description: The number to go in the message
      example: 123

  sequence:
    - service: notify.mobile_app_my_iphone
      data_template:
title: "Life, the Universe and Everything"
        message: "The answer is {{ number|default('42') }}"

But if you use the parameter in multiple places, you get duplication, and I think it would be tidier anyway to be able to do this:

  fields:
    number:
description: The number to go in the message
      example: 123
      default: 42

Should I dig in and see if I can implement this? Is there a better solution?

Conditional execution of individual items in a script?

@quentinsf wrote:

In scripts, you can add tests for conditions. If the condition fails, the script stops. But I think that’s the only kind of condition test allowed?

I was wondering how easy it would be to allow individual items in a script sequence to have a condition added? Ansible scripts do this with a ‘when’ clause – in HA I guess this might look like:

script:
  example_script:
    sequence:
      - service: do_something

      - service: light.turn_on
        data:
          entity_id: light.ceiling
        when: "{{ sensor.room_brightness < 128 }}"

      - service: do_something_else

I haven’t looked at the code – it may be that this would be tricky for some reason – but it does feel as if the current condition tests are a bit limited.

Iron icon height / width not working anymore

Previously the --iron-icon-height, was working perfectly and all my icons were the correct size as I wanted them to be. Since updating to 0.110.1/2 the icons are all their standard size unfortunately. So some icons are way too big, while others are way too small compared to before updating. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
