Lutron Radio RA2 integration not working

$

Hi Home Assistant Community!
I am not new to home automation, but new to Home Assistant.
I installed HA Supervised on my proxmox server using a script from whiskerz007
Everything seems to work fine, I am able to add integrations for devices I have, such as my ELK M1
HA also located two AV receivers I have that have chromecast built in and a canon printer.
It did not locate my Radio RA2 system, and after I manually added the lutron integration to the configuration.yaml file I am getting a notification about invalid configuration:

The following integrations and platforms could not be set up:
* [lutron](https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/lutron)
Please check your config.

I tried the configuration both with the default username:lutron/password:integration as well as with a dedicated username/password to no avail.
I can access the RA2 main repeater via telnet without a problem using the previously mentioned credentials.
The HA configuration check states that my config file is valid.
Any suggestions how to troubleshoot this integration?
Thanks

Colour temperature can not be changed from ZigBee light bulb?

$

Hello!

I have this Zigbee light bulb: Linkind Smart E14 LED

I “paired” it with a ConBee II stick and deCONZ to see it in Home Assistant.

This is what I see from it in Home Assistant:
Bildschirmfoto 2020-06-18 um 21.46.02

This is the entity:

This is what is displayed in deCONZ:
Bildschirmfoto 2020-06-18 um 21.56.57

I can switch the bulb on and off, I can change the brightness, that is working.
But the colour temperature has a slider, I can set a value there but the bulb will not change anything and the slider immediately jumps back to minimum.
If I look at the slider, it is also wrong, as the bulb is switched to a warm colour temperature and not a cold one as the slider is showing.

Can someone help me here in finding out what is going wrong?

HA RBPI static IP without internet connection not booting

$

Hi guys!

I’m using HA for almost more then a year and I love it.
At this point I have HA running on my Synology NAS at my home, a great extension on my Beckhoff PLC.

For some other projects I’m facing some problems.
The use case is to implement HA on a RBPI 4, in combination with a Beckhoff PLC (trough the ADS component), in a situation where there is no router and/or internet connection availble.

Because there is no router availble, all devices in the network have a static IP adress.
To do this on the rasberry PI, I use this guide:
https://pastebin.com/rrg6ujBX
So I enter the static IP, subnet, also with a default gateway “xxx.xxx.x .1” which is actually not present. Also the DNS is entered, but this is also not present.

Home assisant will not come availble at :8123. Ping is possible.

When I change the network configuration file back to “auto”, and connect it to a network with internet connection the HA instance becomes availble.

So can anybody help me with the settings to use the HA instance on a RBPI with a static IP with no internet connection?

Note: before going into a network without internet connection, the initial HA configuration was done in a network envirement with internet connection.

Thank you !

Tasmota switching and im not sure why (I know i know, another one)

I’ve been battling with this for days to try and get it right, and i don’t seem to be getting anywhere. I know this is a common issue that you guys have seen again and again, but if anyone can give me an idea it would be very much appreciated.

Other posts have led me to this youtube video allot recommend https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31IyfM1gygo and using switchretain off and power retain on. I’ve also followed another video where they recommended using MQTT explorer to remove the cmd retain which i did. Im not actually sure why its going off, so not sure if i could force it to happen after any changes i make to see if it happens again. I just have to wait till my garage door randomly opens. (tried turning the router on and off)

Here is my info, using a esp8266 with tasmota on it, switch 1 is a reed and power 2 is the door control

Internal_url vs external_url VS google assistant vs Cameras on HUB ... local or cloud?

$

Hi, i am trying to understand the logic, i have some cameras and they are buffering i lot if i watch them on my google hubs, while they are not in lovelace…

So recently they invented internal and external url, so HA tries first internal, if not possible it trys external…

so how does that work when we are using google assistant (nabu casa edition)
if you want to watch a camera, is our camera feed first uploading to google cloud, and they it needs to be downloaded again on the hub itself? is that maybe why my video is constantly buffering?

i dont use my own domain, i have no ports opened in my firewall, so if i define internal_url like : https://someip:8123 , then i can’t watch my cameras at all, it never starts
so does that mean it tries to access the cameras locally, but it fails since that IP address is not accesible though cloud?
if i define the internal url the same as the external url, in my case the nabucasa hook, then i works, but i have the buffer…

i hope you onderstand my quesion :slight_smile:

maybe if it could really work with my internal local url, i need to setup some reverse lookup or nginx or something like that ?

Homekit Multiple TVs Remote Widget

$

Hi there

Is there any way to make the Remote Widget work for multiple TVs, as its now possible with multiple homekit instances?

I did try it with homekit_tv_remote_key_pressed and automations, where I did set conditions depending on which TV is turned on, to trigger the correct command for the correct TV, but it does not work.

I was able to track it down, that only the first configured device is firing up homekit_tv_remote_key_pressed.

Is there any solution or is there a update planned?

Hi there! Has anyone built a security camera integration with Blue Iris that allows for recorded clip playback when a motion alert is triggered.

I’ve seen a lot of awesome stuff done with Blue Iris on here like AI for person detection etc. but I haven’t found any examples of being able to view Blue Iris recorded clips in HA?

Any pointers are much appreciated!

AEON Labs Z-Stick Gen5 EU Only finds one neighbor

I have the AEON Labs Z-Stick, and it only finds one neighbor. While it’s positioned in the middle of my z-wave devices. If I look at node 9, which node 1 the Z-Stick is connected to, it can find all my other z-wave devices. If I do a soft reset or heal network, it doesn’t change anything. I would like to know what is going wrong, and how I could let the Z-stick find more neigbors so it reduces latency.

Make a Multiple-Choice-Switch out of 1 button (Press once, Press twice in x (milli)seconds)

$

Hey Folks,

I have a few “Clickers” for my remote Lamps from IKEA (Tradfri) and managed to get them to work with “zigbee2mqtt” in Home-Assistant… I can use them as a trigger for automations already.

I would like to make a template-sensor or template-automation-trigger (or whatever is best) to check for multiple clicks within 1 Second… to trigger different things when it is clicked twice…

The clicker populates as Binary-Sensor and does briefly show the state “on”, when pressed.
After releasing, the state is blank (null).
It has no persistent “clicked” state. So every click is only seen as a short state change in the sensor.

My first Thought was to make a Template-Sensor which shows (and temporary saves) the amount of clicks within 1 second. (milliseconds would be even better)
An Automation then triggers if the template-value is “1”, and another automation if value is “2”.

This was my first attempt to a template-sensor like this:

platform: template
sensors:
  ikea_clicker1_on_count:
    friendly_name: Clicker1 Count
    value_template: >-
    {% set clicks = 0 %}
    {% set lastclicktime = 0 %}
    {% if is_state_attr('sensor.ikea_clicker_click', 'click', 'on') %}
        {% set clicks = 1 %}
        {% set currentclicktime=now().seconds %}
        {% if currentclicktime > (lastclicktime) %}
            {% if currentclicktime < (lastclicktime + 1) %}
                {% set clicks = 2 %}
            {% else %}
                {% set clicks = 1 %}
            {% endif %}
        {% endif %}
        {% set lastclicktime = currentclicktime %}
    {% endif %}
    {{ clicks }}

I think I need a little help on that… because I hardly doubt that this will work…
Does anyone have better ideas on solving this?

How could you check, if an automation trigger (event) has come twice in a given time?
And would it even be accurate enough to notice two clicks within 1 second or less?

Kind Rergards from Germany!

Harmony Hub multiple detections

$

Hi, I have a Harmony Hub which is working fine for many months.

Recently(ish) the Harmony Hub detection has moved to GUI from YAML and around this time, my HASS install has started multiply detecting the hub. Note that I have the HUB configured with a Fixed IP and it’s IP hasn’t changed for years, so it isn’t spurious IP changes.

I’m guessing it is a bug or maybe a result of the Hub being slow to react to HASS when it is booting up. I basically get a redetection on every reboot of HASS. I now have 3 Harmony Hubs configured but only 1 has entities and devices.

Here is a logfile snip:

Log Details (ERROR)

Logger: aioharmony.hubconnector

Has anyone else seen anything similar or have suggestions to mitigate this? I can create an issue on GitHub but I don’t have a lot to go on yet.

Device paring with wrong quirk?

$

I have 3 Osram Lightify Flex RGBW devices.
All 3 report correctly as “LIGHTIFY Flex RGBW by OSRAM”.
All 3 have the same firmware.
However, 2 are using Quirk: zhaquirks.osram.flexrgbw.FlexRGBW while 1 is using zhaquirks.osram.a19twhite.A19TunableWhite.
Now the weird part is the 1 using the tunable white has an “electrical measurement” sensor that appears to report the light’s color temp. The light works correctly… but sometimes seems less responsive. They are all fairly close an have similar signals.

I’ve paired and un-paired the device and it always seems to grab the wrong quirk. Any ideas how to get it to grab the correct quirk or why it’s grabbing the wrong one?

Any way to force some users to a dashboard other than Overview?

I’m not sure this is the correct place to ask this question. New with Hassio on RPi 4 here. I have a simple setup I plan to deploy at my mother’s house. She’s 85 and an iPad user. I would like her to be able to interact with the system via a limited dashboard. I don’t want her to be able to change dashboards. She’s capable of logging in with a user name and password. Is Hassio capable of assigning specific dashboards to specific users?

My other option would be to set up an old iPad and somehow force it to always display the limited dashboard. No idea how to do this and just thought of it as I was writing this. Ideas welcome.

Time condition - inclusive or exclusive?

$

I’m trying to build an automation that runs “before sunset AND if cloudy” -or- “at exactly this time” as one combined automation. I know how to “and” and “or” conditions, but I’m unsure about the condition specification for an exact time.

Does anyone know if the time and sunset conditions are inclusive (<=, >=)/exclusive (<, >)?

For example, if I want it to trigger only at exactly 6PM, is it “inclusive” less/greater or equal like this:

condition: time
before: '18:00:00'
after: '18:00:00'

Or is it exclusive “greater/less but not equal” requiring this:

condition: time
before: '17:59:59'
after: '18:00:01'

Similarly, for sunset would I be ale to do just condition: sunset or would I have to do condition: sunset after -00:00:01 before +00:00:01 if my trigger is on sunset “exactly”?

Hi all,

since i moved my HA from a Raspberry Pi 3 (0.110.x) to a Pi4 (2GB) with Version 0111. there is no RGB wheel on the Yeelight RGB LED stripes.

On the Yeelight RGB bulbs is a RGB wheel, also on the bedside lamp.

The automation ignores my color specification for my night light.

Specify Subject in Email Alert

I have set up an alert that uses an SMTP notifier but I am failing at specifying the subject using the additional parameters example from the alert integration page.

Here is what I currently have, but when the email comes in the subject is just “Home Assistant” is it possible to specify the subject used for an email alert?

Please help diagnoze an automation issue

$

Hi All,

I have a problem and I cannot see what causes it.
I have a sensor which report multiple values, for example light intensity. I have a remote controlled lamp. Both are connected to HA and both are MQTT controlled DIY devices.

I have a rule to turn on the light if the light intensity value is below 10.

The problem is the lamp turns on sometimes with no reason. Or at least I cannot see the reason.

According to its history it turned on today at 7:25:07:
image

I have cheked the MQTT history and I could find the command to turn on the lamp at that time. Which means the command come from the MQTT and not an issue with the lamp’s software.
Also on the automation page I can see that the rule was fired at 7:25 so it looks like really HA sent the command:
image

I have cheked the light intensity history.
image

In the history we can see that the light intensity went up from 0 to 1 at the time when the lamp turned on.
This value is much below the configured threshold which is 10 so I think the lamp shouldn’t turn on.

Any idea what am I missing? Or how to debug? This is not a one time issue. Every time I wake up the lamp is on. However based on the light intensity history HA gets the correct values.

Any idea what to check?

When is state trigger fired: before or after the state changes?

$

So if I create an automation when the event fires, what will be the value of the device state when I check that in my condition? I am asking this because my automation looks like this. This basically sets my brightness level at a certain level when the light is turned off, or when the ‘nightmode’ boolean changes.

The side effect is that the brightness changes automatically when nightmode goes to true, when the light is already turned on.

I could add a condition saying that light.shelly_dimmer should be off, but I’m not sure if this conflicts with the trigger. If this trigger is running because the state of the light changed from on to off; what would be the value of the state at that point. On or off?

- id: bdk_to_default
  alias: Badkamer naar default waarde
  trigger:
  - platform: state
    entity_id: light.shelly_dimmer_d45fd4_light_0
    to: 'off'
  - platform: state
    entity_id: input_boolean.nightmode
  action:
  - service: script.badkamer_default_brightness
  - service: timer.cancel

Hey

I have a question about z-wave and all the files it created in home-directory.

I have 7 zwcfg_*******.xml files where the “configuration.yaml” file is located. Some files havent been altered since 2018. One is altered yesterday.
So my question is: How many of theese files should I have?

Can I delete all but one?
