Hello everyone i am stuck with smth quite simple i guess… I have UPS Salicru configured to get email alarms with this topic "Alarmas SAI R5 " using IMAP. When i get them i have a helper called input_text.alarmas_sai_r5 which through an automation get the text value Alarmas SAI R5 or Sin Alarmas. It works, but the issue comes when i get a new email that doesnt have the subject “Alarmas SAI R5” but the input_text.alarmas_sai_r5 already had it. It does not keep it. Same if i get and email with diferent subject, it consider last email only. Not sure if you get me…sorry for my english.

I’m using the Blueprint “LLM Script for Music Assitant voice requests” from @TheFes .
It works most of the time but I’m experiencing 2 issues right now.

1. When asking MA to play something it stops the current playback and finds the requested title but does not play it although the LLM responds that it does.
2. Sometimes when asking the LLM to play something it responds that is does but actually nothing is played and MA did also not change to the new title.

There are some wi-fi rgb bulbs that sometimes with a very long delay start to adjust through adaptive-lighting.

I want to write a script that would track the rgb color that adaptive-lighting produces and that is actually on the bulb, but for some reason sometimes the rgb color on the bulb does not match, it looks like what it should be but the numbers are slightly different.
How can I unambiguously determine that the rgb color began to be regulated by the integration of adaptive-lighting ?

Also what parameters do you advise to change to make the wi-fi bulbs start to adjust faster?
I set
initial_transition: 15 to wait for the bulbs longer
take_over_control false so that the light always changes via adaptive-lighting.

maybe I should reduce the parameters interval: 90 and transition: 45 to change the light on the problem bulbs faster ?
or can you suggest something else?

I would like to be notified when someone boosted the heating or when the heating is fired due to demand. This will then allow me to decrease the temperature if I feel it’s not needed. (I’m the one paying the bill’s)

I have the notify and ability to decrease the temperature if fired all working perfectly well from my iPhone.

The only issue I’am struggling with is knowing which user boosted the heating whether that be a user or due to demand, but I don’t want a notification if it was me. (user_id: 33e345d6591f46668b1fg4c1232dcb70)

I’ve tried automations and scripts to no avail.

The ‘Boost Heating’ on the UI is an input.button, Im using Climate and this triggers a Tasmota Sonoff relay.

I’ve experimented in many ways with the context.user_id hence the notify in the automation, only there to help me try and understand what’s going on.

But I’m now lost on how to achieve this after going round and round. Any ideas or a different approach would be much appreciated.

I’m trying to include a pause in an automation using the delay statement. But somehow I’m getting always errors. My test automation shall switch a light one, pause for 10 seconds and switches the light off again.
With the code below I get the error message
“Message malformed: offset None should be format ‘HH:MM’, ‘HH:MM:SS’ or ‘HH:MM:SS.F’ for dictionary value @ data[‘actions’][1][‘delay’]”

I don‘t know when it started, but I noticed only now that the few Grafana charts I am using on a wallpanel dashboards for my PV stopped refreshing according to the refresh parameter in the Grafana-URL of the iFrame. This worked for years, but now it just doesn‘t do anything any longer. Just updates when I explicitly refresh the screen. Did anyone else notice this? Has anything changed and do I need to do additional configuration somewhere? Happens (or rather does not happen…) in normal browser as well as within the companion app browser, and on iOS as well as Android.

I’ve got a UPS sensor that is coming back in seconds and I’d like to put it in a card in minutes and seconds.

I’ve been reading posts going back some way about making a template for it in configuration.yaml and I was thinking… “Surely there’s an easier way of doing this now?”

I’ll tell you my concerns. Sensors and cards come and go as devices are added and removed. As builds grow and get more complex, extra bits of code and configuration can get forgotten about and cause problems further down the line. So I’d rather be able to solve this in a card rather than having to create a template.

Grateful for thoughts please.

I‘m having a nervous breakdown. All my lights and motion sensors are connected through Z2M. I did bind the motion sensors to the lights and the lights to the motion sensors. I want my lights to turn on at a 100% brightness when motion is detected. I surely have automations running that ensure that. But sometimes it fails and the light is turned on by the binding to the motion sensor. Then the light will only turn on at 1% brightness.
I tried to „force“ the light to always turn on at 100% through yaml. But this does not work either. Does anyone has a solution ?

I am measuring power and energy consumption in my home with a bunch of different ZigBee power clamps, accessed through zigbee2mqtt. I am using devices which have several different clamps, so I can’t give the device itself a meaningful name in zigbee2mqtt. For example, the device “powerclamp3” provides “sensor.powerclamp3_power_b” which happens to measure our garage, so I gave it a descriptive name.

But I now realized that this may cause a problem at some point in the future when I need to replace the device or simply rearrange which clamps measure what. What I need are stable aliases like “sensor.garage_power” which I can point to the current source of that information.

I suppose I can do that with a template sensor. Are there better ways?

Is there a way to configure the original sensor so that its values are not recorded in the long-term statistics? That would be duplication that I won’t need.

If I do this, is there a way to salvage past statistics such that I have statistics for “sensor.garage_power” even though I only now defined that alias?

I have a simple DIY weather station I built that has WiFi. The weather station returns a simple JSON string with a get request:
“{“time”:1738039811, “voltage”:7408, “current”:28, “temperature”:-792, “humidity”:8344, “pressure”:2906, “light”:0}”.
I have a web page on this device that can access this information and display it.

I thought it would be easy enough to build this page in Home Assistant but after a couple of days at looking through the docs and examples found no such simple application. Apparently, this product is too complex to handle something this simple.
At least I expected someone had already setup an example project that was close.
Right now I have a Raspberry Pi Zero running python code that polls this device every hour and displays a graph of the data.

Where is the simple example of setting something like this up in Home Assistant?

Hey Guys,

Im new to HA and maybe im asking a dumb question but i hope you can help me.
Im running a virtual machine with HA on my NUC, I installed the HACS and downloaded the IKEA Dirigera integration, works perfectly, until i added the IKEA parasoll door sensor, when i check in the ikea app i see realtime status changes, also in Google home app. but in HA the status stays the same.
Did i do something wrong or do i have to config a refresh rate?

I’m trying to hide the icon in the card_graph to save space and move the text all the way to the left.

Is it possible to achieve this using an attribute, or do I need to create a custom card?

Hallo Zusammen,

vielleicht könnt ihr mir hier weiter helfen. Ich bin komplett neu in diesem Thema und ich habe wohl ein paar Verständnis Probleme.

Aktueller ist Zustand
Apple Home und EVe APP
hier habe ich alle meine Geräte und Automationen und Szenen gebaut.
Habe Plattformen haben diese Informationen unter einander ausgetauscht.
Soweit alles super.

Jetzt hatte ich mich HA beschäftiget und gesehen das ich hier diese Geräte etwas besser steuern könnte.

Ich habe versucht eine Home Bridge einzurichten und hatte nachher sehr viele gerate Doppelt in HomeKit, was blöd war also alles wieder gelöscht.

Meine fragen die ich habe.
Gibt es eine Möglichkeit die Geräte die ich jetzt schon verbunden habe über Apple & EVE in HA sichtbar zu machen und die bisherigen Szenen und Automationen auch zu Syncen.

Oder ist dieses nicht möglich ?

Wäre nett wenn ihr mir hier etwas Klarheit verschaffen könntet.
Über Hilfestellungen wäre ich auch dankbar.

For the past few years I’ve been running my smart home using OpenHAB installed on Unraid as a docker container.

Everything is working ok with my current system, but I’m thinking of switching to HA.

Can anyone please share what I should take into consideration for the migration process?

My smart home has Zwave, Zigbee, SmartThings Wifi devices, and RF devices, which I control using: Zwave usb controller, Zigbee usb controller, and a Broadlink RM4 Pro for controlling RF devices.

If I switch to HA and connect my current Zwave and Zigbee usb controllers, will HA be able to automatically find and add all the Zwave and Zigbee nodes I included and configured in OpenHAB, or will I first need to exclude these devices from OpenHAB and then include them on HA?

Is there an easy migration assistant I can use that connects HA to OpenHAB for an automatic import of my OpenHAB configurations?

Hi, I am trying to figure out why this is not working. I want to filter out some ‘acknowledged, and we do not care’ messages, like

I use the “for” time option in the automation triggers quite a lot in many automations. I have just now discovered that this is not actually a timer…

for example, i have an automation that checks if my fridge has been left open for too long:

i was under the impression that the FOR 1minute/15sec option would mean to trigger the automation after the binary sensor had switched to ON and stayed ON for the configured amount of time.
BUT if i open the fridge, and immediately close it again, and then after 1 minute and ten seconds open it again and leave it open for more than 5 seconds, and thus the 1,15 minutes passed of the original opening, it triggers the automation. So what the time setting actually does is check the state again after the initial 1,15 minute mark. it does not get reset after closing the door.

Is this by design or is this a bug?

And, how can i change my automatins to actually only trigger after the mentioned 1,15minutes have fully passed in ON state? or how to reset the automation after closing the fridge
