Vocal assistant, LOCAL, customizable and french friendly?

$

0

Hi!

I search something to control HA with voice, wich be local (so not on any cloud or GAFA based…) and also that can be understand french…

I read about a lot of thing… snips (wich be not available anymore), kalliope (not integrable), jarvis/sarah (same) and in the integration menu I see other thing in voice cathegory, but I don’t know how there are…

I also see something about MQTT with Kaliope, but… where is install kalliope? if I install the full OS of HA, I can’t install Kalliope in the same raspberry right?

Somebody can give me good advices to search correctly? (on youtube there is a lot of video… but a very few for french and also not very recent!)

Thanks!

Simple sun condition not working in automation

$
0
0

I want to use sun entity as a condition in an automation. However, whatever I set according to https://www.home-assistant.io/docs/scripts/conditions/, somehow the condition always ends TRUE.

So I created a simple Sun Test Automation, to check if the sun condition works :

- id: '123'
  alias: test sun
  description: ''
  trigger: []
  condition:
  - condition: state
    entity_id: sun.sun
    state: below_horizon
  action:
  - service: notify.mobile_app
    data:
    message: sun test done
    mode: single

What ever I use, like a not condition: above_horizon, or include state with ‘quotes’, it just doesn’t work. The condition keeps on being TRUE, so action is triggered :frowning:

Help me out, because I asume it is a simple stupid mistake I am making…

Tassmota Switch is always unavailable

Hi there,
I am trying to get a tasmota switch working under mqtt without much luck. The switch is always unavailable.

Tasmota works fine. I can toggle the switch via it’s local web page.
I have setup mqtt on it, and assigned a login/passwork.

This is it’s console output:

192.168.1.148 is the ip of my tasmota switch.
I am unsure what ip 172.30.32.1 is?? does this seem normal getting this request?

If I look at the mqtt integration, it is setup with:

broker: core-mosquitto
port: 1883
username: homeassistant
password: a very long password.

I never set these, they seemed to be auto setup for me.

and finally, I set up my switch as follows in my configuration.yaml:

switch:
   platform: mqtt
   name: Deta PCB
   command_topic: “cmnd/tasmota_C0247B/POWER”
   state_topic: “stat/tasmota_C0247B/POWER”

   qos: 1
   payload_on: “ON”
   payload_off: “OFF”
   payload_available: “Online”
   payload_not_available: “Offline”
   retain: false

I can see the entity, in the entities list -> switch.deta_pcb

but when I add it to a lovellace card. It appears but always is unavailable.

I’ve been stuck on this for hours, and have many youtube clips nd can’t seem to see what I am doing which is different to them…

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Ghost automation entries

$

hi

i’m a newbie.

ive created some automation through the gui. and then i got to a point where i needed to use data_template so i switched to using the File Editor.

and since mucking around in there, ive got some ghost entries in the gui which i cant edit or delete.

i’ve tried deleting my automations.yaml (the two greyed out ones, the troublesome ones, still persist - so where are they persisting? is the first question.)

i’ve tried blanking out the automations.yaml. same result as above.

thanks

MQTT Automation

My sd card died and I did not realize the backups were on it. I had a thumb drive plugged in

Anyway I had an automation that would turn on and off a GE switch integrated by ring/mqtt so it shows up as an entity.

when I go to actions it is obviously not listed as a device and mqtt is not an option either.

Wake on lan + Linux + MSI x470 Mobo

$

Hi,
I’m trying to set an wake on lan switch in hassio to start my desktop PC. My system is Arch Linux and my motherboard is MSI x470 Gaming Plus MAX.

I have created wake on lan switch that looks like this

  - platform: wake_on_lan
    mac: 00:xx:xx:xx:xx
    name: "Wake up desktop"
    host: 10.20.20.778
ethtool interface | grep Wake-on
	Supports Wake-on: pumbg
	Wake-on: g

I have also set my Arch Linux network card drivers that it has wol on.

nmcli c show “Wired connection 1” | grep 802-3-ethernet.wake-on-lan
802-3-ethernet.wake-on-lan: magic
802-3-ethernet.wake-on-lan-password: –

And from BIOS, I have set so that wake on event is “Enabled” on the PCIE.

But nothing happens when I turn the switch on. It does show PC’s status correctly so it is “On” when the PC is on. But the WOL won’t work.

Any ideas, what I’m missing?

Migration to OZW

$

Using Hassio Supervised, 114.1

Having trouble with Home Assistant consuming 100% CPU with a python3 process. Causing problems with my fanless PC overheating. Have read the forums but there’s not much in the way of solutions apart from buggy integrations and installing trace tools and trying to diagnose output. I don’t know anything about python, docker etc and reading log outputs, there should be easier ways to troubleshoot than this.

Anyway, I stopped my Z-Wave networtk and the runaway process immediately stopped. So that tends to suggest the built-in Z-Wave integration is buggy.

I’ve been reading about the new OZW plugin and have read up about migration to that. Not much documentation available, it just says install plugin and congifure. So I’ve installed it, then the config page says to install MQTT plugin as well and configure that. So I’ve installed it but I don’t really know what to do to configure that. The documentation says create a user in HA for MQTT, so I’ve done that. But it then goes onto mention setting up users is not necessary as local users can be used. What exactly should I be doing with MQTT to set it up for use with OZW? Is it being used as a “broker” or not, and what does that mean? Where does the username that I’ve just added go?

Then the documenation for configuring OZW - it talks about defining the Z-Wave controller. I’ve already done that for the Z-Wave plugin, will declaring it to OZW as well screw up the controller? Doesn’t the controler “know” which hub it’s attached to? Do I have to reset the controller, and will that screw up the oiriginal Z-Wave config if OZW doesn’t work. I remember when trying to set up HA inm the first palce with Z-Wave, had to start again from scratch several times and the controller needing resetting each time otherwise it wouldn’t work.

Then…do I really have to set up all the devices and automations again with OZW? Is there no migration path? I can’t find any documentation in migrating an existing Z-Wave set up apart from “install and configure it”.

Can anyone point me to the right things to do to actually set up MQTT and migrate Z-Wave to OZW? It’s all very confusing.

OpenZWave problem

I have to HA setup. One of them is for ZWave devices. This HA failed and I am setting up a new one. I decided to setup and use OpenZWave.

I added mqtt entries to my configuration.yaml file and specified IP address of my primary HA device.
I added OpenZWave add-on from Add-on store.
I added OpenZWave in Configuration - Integrations.

After I rebooted HA, I do not see how to add and manage ZWave devices. Was it moved to another location and I cannot find it or something did not go right?

I use Aeotec Z-Stick Gen 5.

Successfully set up DuckDNS, but could only access HA with DuckDNS URL from home network

$

Hello everyone! So I’ve recently managed to set up DuckDNS to work with my Home Assistant using this guide:

I’m coincidentally also using a NETGEAR router which is the same as the one used in the video, so I definitely got the port forwarding set up correctly. So after following the guide, I now can only access Home Assistant by using the DuckDNS URL (e.g.: https:// hassio. duckdns. org). The URL worked for both my computer and my phone. That is to be expected since the video mentions that after setting this up you can’t access Home Assistant using 192.168.1.XX:8123 or hassio.local:8123 anymore.

The problem for me is that I can only access Home Assistant using the DuckDNS URL from my home network. When I switched to cellular on my phone, the app won’t connect to HA. I even tried connecting my computer to my phone’s mobile hotspot and couldn’t connect either.

I don’t know if this is relevant, but on my web browser I tried entering my public IP and added port 443 (https:// x.x.x.x :443) and this is what I get:
image

So has anyone ever encountered this kind of problem? Thanks for your time guys!

I am trying to create my own LED staircase. And I thought using Gleopto RGB+CCT controllers would do the trick, programming each 1. channel LED strip to light when I want them too by switching between the color.
But I have two issues. One is that I can’t use both RGB and CCT simultaniously? Feature or am I doing it wrong? In the description it says 5 channels, but is it truly 3+2 channels not working at the same time?

Other issue I have, is that when start one controller with RED (rgb_color : [255,0,0]) then also BLUE flashes? Of course I want one channel to light up at the time… See image from my Node-Red. (I also did a video of how it responses: http://youtu.be/BY7M8yt-VoY?hd=1)

Quite simple:

0. Turn it initially off
1. "Brightness": 255, "rgb_color":[255,0,0] (RED, ch1)
2. "Brightness": 255, "rgb_color":[0,255,0] (GREEN, ch2)
3. "Brightness": 255, "rgb_color":[0,0,255] (BLUE, ch3)
4. Turn it off
