No Tuya no SonoffLan devices show in HA

$

Hi there.
Im runing Hassio in docker on ubuntu which is a Vm in Vmware ESXI
previously i was using homeassistant on Pi, but switched to a mini server due to SD card deaths

on PI it was all good - installed inntegration, added login password in yaml and all good

Here now - none of the devices show, just none on these two integrations.
Maybe it is some VM networking issues or something with docker host or else?

I came back from 2 weeks away and all my Z-Wave stuff is showing as unavailable. I’ve updated to latest release 0.114.1 (docker) and the latest Openwave. I can see all my devices in ozwadmin and in MQTTExplorer - here is the status message:

{
     "OpenZWave_Version": "1.6.1240",
     "OZWDaemon_Version": "0.1.170",
     "QTOpenZWave_Version": "1.2.0",
     "QT_Version": "5.12.9",
     "Status": "driverAllNodesQueried",
     "TimeStamp": 1597563650,
     "ManufacturerSpecificDBReady": true,
     "homeID": 4272292198,
     "getControllerNodeId": 1,
     "getSUCNodeId": 1,
     "isPrimaryController": true,
     "isBridgeController": false,
     "hasExtendedTXStatistics": false,
     "getControllerLibraryVersion": "Z-Wave 3.95",
     "getControllerLibraryType": "Static Controller",
     "getControllerPath": "/dev/serial/by-id/usb-0658_0200-if00"
 }

But in HA everything is showing as unavailable:

I would like to help get this resolved as its not the first time this has happened to me. I am not sure where to start.

HA not showing not_home when away

GPS position differ in HA Companion (the app) and what is reported from the sensors in the app.

Yesterday I was away from home, for several hours, but noticed my status in Home Assistant still was home. When I checked the Sensor section in the App config, the sensor was showing the place I was at, which was not home.

How could I start to look to solve this?
I am using A better presence add-on.

Record: / SQLite broken

Hi all,

Few days ago, my HA suddenly started to appear frozen intermittently and when it worked it ofteb was very slow. Additinally the green LED on the Pi 4 was on almost all the time.

I suspected the SD card to be broken after one year of use. So what I did is that I took a new one, installed HA and recovered my last snapshot. Everything is working fine and fast again now, howwever I dont have any historical data (i.e. temperature) and get errors like this in the log:

As I think the database might be corrupted I reverted to an older snapshot where I am sure stuff was still working but it remains the same.

Any easy way to fix this? I dont care for the historical data being lost, but want to have it wotking again.

Thank you for any help or hint!

How to trace what triggers an event?

I have this awning managed by an esphome cover entity that used to work just fine for the longest while. Now it started automatically opening the instant I close it, and I can see ZERO reasons for this to happen, which is driving me f***in nuts. How can I figure out what exactly calls the open_cover service???

Anything I can do with the event context maybe?

Livolo new wall light switch (zigbee) and ZHA?

Has anyone had success paring Livolo new wall light switches (TI0001-switch) and HA?
I am using HA in Docker, with Conbee II and use ZHA plugin. It doesn’t show up when I try to add it to ZHA.

I read about the old model had some issues (channel 26), does the newer model also having same issues? if so, how do I put conbee II on channel 26?

Tablet as media player

$

Good day.

I intend to use the Android tablet as a common central device for all family members. To access heating control, weather forecasting and control of other automations. I would also like to add an internet radio player to the card. I don’t have any other players to connect to Homeassistant yet.
Can you recommend an Internet radio player that can work with Homeassistant and Android tablets?

I have found this option so far, but the installation procedure is not entirely clear to me.

Help Needed with Automation using ZHA Aqara Zigbee Button and Chooser Action

$
0
0

I am trying to modify an existing automation so that my doorbell plays a different sound depending on whether the Aqara Zigbee button I am using is pressed once, twice, three times etc. The Zigbee events corresponding to each of these can be selected as a trigger in the UI, however if I add a Choose Action then these are not available, only the battery level appears as shown below:

My yaml for the existing automation is …

- id: Hall_001
  alias: Doorbell Automation
  trigger:
  - device_id: f12a042cd06945cf8de93be563ccfc12
    domain: zha
    platform: device
    subtype: remote_button_short_press
    type: remote_button_short_press
  - device_id: f12a042cd06945cf8de93be563ccfc12
    domain: zha
    platform: device
    subtype: remote_button_double_press
    type: remote_button_double_press
  - device_id: f12a042cd06945cf8de93be563ccfc12
    domain: zha
    platform: device
    subtype: remote_button_triple_press
    type: remote_button_triple_press
  action:
  - data:
      delay: 00:00:04
      mp3_file: http://192.168.1.17:8123/local/doorbell-2.mp3
      volume: 0.5
    service: script.sonos_broadcast_mp3
  - delay: 00:00:04
  initial_state: 'on'

I would like to replicate the above action so that a different mp3 file is played depending on the number of button clicks. I relaise that I can do this in 3 automations but I has hoped this could be done in a single automation using the new Choose Action.

I think this may be due to the fact that ZHA treats these button presses as Events whereas in Zigbee2MQTT a Sensor can be created that changes to a different state based on the number of clicks.

Cheers!

Delay action with a passed variable from event

$

Hey You! Thank you for reading this :grinning:
The following is an event that i am passing to an automation. I need to get the values from “event_response” to pass them in an Delay action. When i try:

delay:
seconds: ‘{{ event_response|float }}’

I get an error:
Error rendering Küche Steckdosen ResponseDauer delay template: UndefinedError: 'event_response' is undefined
also tried things like:

seconds:’{{ event_response }}’
‘00:00:’{{ event_response }}’

The event_response_type contents are used to trigger the automation and they work… So how i can get this 3 from the event_response, so the Delay action understands the number in seconds?

{
    "event_type": "alexa_actionable_notification",
    "data": {
        "event_id": "actionable_notification_kucheon",
        "event_response": 3,
        "event_response_type": "ResponseDuration"

Port forwarding plus VPN at the same time

$

Hello!

I am running Home assistant on a raspberry pi 3. I use the venv version of home assistant.
To access home assistant remotely I have set up port forwarding on my router and it works correctly when I am outside my house. However I also want to run a VPN service, particularly privateinternetaccess, in the same raspberry pi as the home assistatn. I use openvpn with the config files provided by privateinternetaccess to connect to their servers and the connection works correctly. However now that the VPN is running I cannot access home assistant from outside the house. Is it possible to solve this problem in some way? I am having a hard time searching for this problem since I am not hitting the correct keywords in the search and cannot find any similar problem posted before in forums. I would appreciate if someone could give me a solution or point me in the correct way to search for more info on the topic!
Thank you!

How to get value from input_number to a script for MQTT?

$
0
0

I made a ‘helper’ for an input number with a slider that I put on my lovelace ui.

I then made a script that calls my MQTT service with the following action, but the payload doesn’t get the number the I select in the ui.

payload: "{{ states('input_number.nap_length') }}"
qos: 1
topic: homeControl/parentNapLength

I’ve tried reading around the forums and I see people using the states controller, but for me the payload sent to mqtt is just the text of the payload field.

{{ states(“input_number.nap_length”) }}

It’s not actually grabbing the number from what I select in the input field.

Can someone point me in the right direction here?

I tried restarting HA from the Server Controls page, but the buttons are unresponsive (and an error is recorded in the logs).
I’m running 0.114.0, I noticed this problem because I saw the updater entity triggered and I was going to update HA from the supervisor page, but it didn’t load (I had this problem where the cpu usage was slowly rising after every boot, from 1% to about 35% on my rpi2 in about 2 days and I thought another update would fix it).

I just wanted to know if I can do something remotely to fix it, as I will be back home in about a week and I don’t like leaving it like this.

(I make automatic snapshots with the Google Drive Backup addon twice a week for good measure)

Cannot use deCONZ with HA Supervisor

$

Hi everyone!

I just installed my ConBee II on my Raspberry Pi 4 last night and tried to install the deCONZ add-on to my Home Assistant Supervisor but it when I click on it, it says, “add in not running, please start first.” It then takes me to DeCONZ within the supervisor and I click “start” the button turns red and nothing happens.

NOTE: I tried the Zigbee Home Automation integration and it recognizes the test light bulb that installed but I cannot control the light at all. I can’t turn it on or of, adjust the color or anything.

Is this because I have HA installed on docker? (I actually have the same issue when I try to initiate z-wave.) Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks!

How to override hyperlink color in markdown card

        <font color= {{alarm_color}}> [{{state_attr('binary_sensor.meteoalarm_brabant','attribution')}}]({{state_attr('binary_sensor.meteoalarm_brabant','web')}})</font>

results in:

which as you can see make the link at the bottom hard to read. I would have hoped my {{alarm_color}} would set the color, but apparently that doesnt work on a hyperlink? Can this be done in another way?

thanks for having a look

Default Lovelace view based on binary sensor

$

Hello,

I have a pretty reliable method of knowing when I am in my bedroom. I would like to make it so that when I open the Home Assistant app on my phone, it immediately opens the “Bedroom” view of my main dashboard (instead of the default view for the main floor).

I use yaml to configure all of my dashboards/views and I know how I can switch it up there if I hardcode it, but I’d like to be able to do it dynamically based on my “binary_sensor.in_bedroom” sensor, or via an automation triggered by that sensor.

Does anybody know if that is possible?
