Hi guys, I’m running Ha core in a desktop with Ubuntu 18.4, I’m trying to integrate this tuya compatible zigbee hub to my ha but still no success.
The tuya component didn’t detect the hub, I also tried the pull device from configuration.yaml but still no success. Is anybody has a clue on how to integrate this?

General cover shutter rolling switch

@Alexanderdavice wrote:

Hi everybody,
I’m very new on Home Assistant, and I’ve just started playing with HASSIO.
I’m wondering on how I can create a general command to open-close all the 7 covers I have in my house.
All of them are recongnized and work fine, but if I create a group it is not a “cover.rolling shutter switch” entity but it is a “group” entity (this logic worked fine with the lights, and creating light group I directly use it as general command).

Which logic I have to follow to solve this?
thanks for the help!

Is there a time template trigger for the last day of the month?
I would like to set up an automation that sends me a notification with the current status of a sensor every month at the end of the month. The sensor tracks the total amount of time a switch has been on for that month but if I forget to check it on the last of the month the sensor resets and there not way for me to view the previous data

End this is what I get:

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong in that card?

Thanks.

Picture-entity within a 'regular' card?

I’m wanting to place a picture-entity within a ‘regular’ card along with some entities.

I did this using a vertical stack, but it puts the entities in 1 card, and the image in another card

home assistant xbox banner

    cards:
      - type: entities
        entities:
        - entity: sensor.sammy_xbox_status
     - type: picture-entity
        entity: sensor.xbox_sammy_playing
        show_name: false
        show_state: false
        state_image:
          "Wreckfest": /local/xbox-wreckfest.png
          "Fortnite": /local/xbox-banner-fortnite.jpg
          "Not Playing": /local/xbox-banner-none.png

This is how I'd like it to look

I’m guessing (hoping) this can be done somehow. Anyone know how?

SmartenIT IOT8-Z - digital inputs not discovered

@groym wrote:

New to Home Assistant. I am running the latest HassIO on a NUC, with a HUSBZB-1. The system properly recognizes the ZWave USB port and the ZHA USB port. I am using a SmartenIT IOT8-Z Zigbee module for rain water and irrigation control. The IOT8-Z has 4 digital inputs, 2 analog inputs and 8 relay outputs. I can add this device in ZHA and the 2 analog inputs and the 8 relay outputs automatically get discovered and populated upon pairing. However, the 4 digital inputs do not appear. Yet, when testing in pairing mode, if I manually change the input level on any of the 4 digital input pins, I do see a proper Zigbee event in the logs.

Has anyone else attempted to use this specific device? I’m a bit stumped :wink:

Thx

How do you automate your vacuum for emptying the bin?

@hillbicks wrote:

Hey guys,

I was wondering what you guys are doing in order to automate the vacuum a bit more. currently i have several automations for the start of the two robots that I have. I still have to remember to empty the bin after every other run and of course I’d like to automate that as well by sending the robot to bin.

I think it either has to be done by calculating the total number of runs since it was last emptied. I think it would be better though to use the total m² cleaned since the bin was last emptied since 1 cleaning run of the kitchen fills the bin way less than a complete run.

Here is what I’m thinking of implementing:

  1. Upon returning state of the vacuum add the value of last clean run to an input_number sensor
  2. Once somebody is near the bin (triggered by light turning on or google home starts playing) AND the value of the input_number sensor is higher than, let’s say, 120, drive the vacuum to the bin and reset the input_number to 0.

How are you guys doing this?

Change state of button card based on a sensor

@Venice wrote:

Hi,

I build a Dashboard for my media control.
I use the Harmony Hub with activities to control my devices.
It works very well, but what I am missing is to show the current state via a button.

As you can see on my screenshot, I have several buttons which trigger an activity on my harmony hub. For example Spotify.

  - entity: remote.wohnzimmer
    icon: 'mdi:spotify'
    icon_height: 32px
    name: Spotify
    show_icon: true
    show_name: true
    tap_action:
      action: call-service
      service: remote.turn_on
      service_data:
        activity: 36772906
        entity_id: remote.wohnzimmer
    theme: Backend-selected
    type: entity-button

I want to change the color of the button if the activity is active.
I was only able to include the activity in the picture card with a template sensor.

I would be very happy if someone could help me :slight_smile:

Hi everyone,
This seems like one of those real basic things, but I cant seem to find anything firm on it.
I have a Sonoff bridge running Tasmota 8.20. I would like to add a temperature sensor and from what I can see, zigbee is now compatible with Tasmota 8.2.

Will https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Aqara-Temperature-Environmental-Intelligent-Connection/dp/B07R9VCQ5N/ref=sr_1_39?crid=1MARWK0Y9AGE&dchild=1&keywords=temperature+humidity&qid=1586118371&sprefix=Temperature+humi%2Caps%2C186&sr=8-39 work with what I have or is another temp sensor I should be looking at.
Thanks

Two-Way Smartthings Integration

@FlangeMonkey wrote:

Hi Guys,

Quick question, I’ve setup Smartthings integration before I had anything really in Home-Assistant. I’ve started to migrate devices over and it appears to be one-way (Smartthings devices on Home-Assistant) is this normal?

I’ve seen a couple of threads but they appear old as they relate to the MQTT Broker and I’ve used the native intergration.

Also, I removed a device from Smartthings and it still appears in Home-Assistant.

It just feels like something is broken…

Thanks,

Input Number and MQTT

@Alessandro_Bacioccol wrote:

Hello Forum,
i started to connect my Arduino to Home Assistant using MQTT protocol.
I have to pass some parameters defined with input-number integration to Arduino then I create a button on the front end with the following code:

type: button
tap_action:
  action: call-service
  service: mqtt.publish
  service_data:
    topic: Hassio
    payload: '{{ states.input_number.box1.state | int }}'

The issue i am founding is that the payload is not the number of the input_number but it’s a string containing “{{ states.input_number.box1.state | int }}”.

What i did wrong?

Thanks in advance

I keep running into the issue of collecting way too much abandoned sensors, old devices, dead light bulbs and whatnot over the time. I went back and forth with different naming schemes to make use things like auto-entities and filters but nothing really worked out. It would rock if the vscode extension was aware of that and just mark them.

how do you keep track and clean your stuff up?
