Somfy mylink integration

$

I’ve been trying to get my Somfy mylink integration to report the state of the window shades. I know with Somfy RTS and the mylink, there is no real way to relay back from the shade to the mylink what the actual state of the shade is in but the state could be assumed if only using home-assistant to control the shades. I know in the SOMFY API integration (not the somfy mylink integration) there is an optimistic option, however there is not one for the mylink.

I tried to figure out how to integrate the somfy mylink into the somfy developers api, but can’t seem to find anything on how to access the synergy api or the mylink from the developers api. I would then just use the Somfy API to integrate in, however, after reading a little more into this it looks like the developers api only integrates in with TaHoma or Connexoon.

Does anyone have any idea how to get the shades to update from an “unknown” state? If anyone has any insight into this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Create automation that creates a notification which includes the name(s) of all Aqara vibration sensors that just detected motion

$

Dear community,
I’m just developing an alarm system using Aqara vibration sensors. Now, I would like to create one automation which creates a notification (no matter whether persistent or push notification to smartphone) that contains in the message body all sensors that just detected a motion.

I think about something like

IF state of any vibration sensor is “Motion Detected”

THEN create notification which contains a message “<sensor.name> has just detected motion!”

In case, multiple sensors detected motion, the message shall contain all sensor names, like

THEN create notification which contains a message “<sensor.name1>, <sensor.name2> has just detected motion!”

Do you have any idea, how to create such an automation?

Thanks a lot in advance and best regards
Benjamin

Home Assistant config :

Generate id_rsa and id_rsa.pub in /config/

add Switch config :

- platform: wake_on_lan
  mac: "DC:FB:48:XX:XX:XX"
  name: XX
  host: 192.168.0.XX
  turn_off:
    service: shell_command.turn_off_XX

add Shell Command config :

turn_off_XX: 'ssh -o UserKnownHostsFile=/dev/null -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -i /config/id_rsa XUSERX@192.168.0.XX shutdown /h /f'

Windows 10 config :

Manage optional features > Add a feature > OpenSSH Server > Install
Open “services.msc” , select “OpenSSH SSH Server” > Startup type > Automatic
Restart Windows 10.

Enable Wake-On-LAN in the BIOS

Enable Wake-On-LAN in the “Devices Manager”
Network Adapters > Select the WiFi card > right click Properties > Power Management > Allow this device to wake the computer + Only allow a magic packet to wake the computer -> CHECK BOTH

Allow HA to ping Windows, for HA to see the Windows state : Windows Defencer Firewall > Advanced settings > File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request - ICMPv4-In) (TWO RULES) > right click and “Enable rule”

Create light entities in Home Assistant dynamically

$

Is it possible to create light entities in Home Assistant not by specifying them in configuration.yaml, but to create them dynamically based on some data?

Here is what I want to implement. I have some special hardware that is working with MQTT. It has a lot of dimmable lamps that are connected to that system. The system creates a topic ‘device/info’ that has a list with that lamps:

[
    {
        "lamp_id" : "lamp_84"
    },
    {
        "lamp_id" : "lamp_123"
    },
    ...
]

And this device has topics something like device/lamp_123/... that allow working with that lamps.
For every lamp I want to create light entity in Home Assistant.

I’m using https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/light.mqtt/ and with it can create config to work with lamp. But to do it I need to specify all the lamps in configuration.yaml. I want to specify only one lamp (the template for the config) and to make Home Assistant create all the needed lights based on the data from MQTT.

How can this be done?

Google Home Mini custom commands and detect of source of command

$

Hello,

Is there a way to:

  1. Use custom commands to Google Home Mini and use them in HA? For example i would like to say: Good Morning or i am at Home and with this start HA action or swich some swich in HA. But i do not want to say: Turn on Good Morning or Turn on I am at Home as using exposed swiches.
    I see only way to use scenes, predefined in Google Home App. Is there better and directer way?
  2. To deteced from which Google Home Mini the command was made? To make an actions only in room where it was said.

Thanks a lot!

Philips Hue Reset - New IP

I recently changed my entire home network, changing subnet/IP addresses for all my IoT devices. It’s a pain but needed to be done. That said, my Hue bridge (discovered) is now unavailable in HA. I don’t see an obvious file with settings or a way to “reset” the integration without losing my setup. The bridge and lights and switches all work fine on their on. I see the device on my router and and have assigned a static IP. Any thoughts?

History Graph - how to show entities that change very rarely

$

Good day, please help me to move in right direction. Here is the situation:

I have a temperature sensor in a room. I also have a feedback loop to my air conditioning system to keep that temperature in a defined range. Between min and max. Min and max are also template sensors to track current settings of the room temperature.

Those 3 sensors are put onto a History Graph
Annotation 2020-07-22 163437

It all looks and works good. But after some time the min and max lined disappear
Annotation 2020-07-22 163156

I assume it happens because min and max do not change so often and data about their history gets deleted from the DB.

Any idea how to fix that? Maybe there’s an option for a sensor to save its state to DB every let’s say 12 hours even in case there’s no change?

Measure Rainfall per week

$

I have a Netatmo rain gauage which provides me rain/h and rain/d in mm.
However, what I actually want to know Is the rain per week.

Therefore, I would like to make a automation which at the end of the day 23:59 takes the figure from rain/d sensor and sums it to variable which shall be visible as sensor.
This shall happen from Saturday to Saturday.

I read several guids how to set scripts and automations. However, as I am doing my Houseautomation with Homekit I Am lost here.

Can anyone give me a tip or starting point.

Sunset completely wrong

How is sunset and sunrise calculated? I have an issue where sunset automations are being triggered at 1500 when they should only be happening at 2200. sun.sun has the current state:

next_dawn: '2020-07-23T01:41:55+00:00'
next_dusk: '2020-07-22T14:29:57+00:00'
next_midnight: '2020-07-22T20:05:58+00:00'
next_noon: '2020-07-23T08:05:57+00:00'
next_rising: '2020-07-23T02:03:55+00:00'
next_setting: '2020-07-22T14:07:55+00:00'
elevation: 0.53
azimuth: 289.99
rising: false
friendly_name: Sun

But should be coming up as follows:
Screenshot from 2020-07-22 15-06-20

I’ve checked my home coordinates and they appear to be fine.

Select message from a list and send to Alexa

$

0

I would like to modify or replace this script to allow me to select from a list of messages rather than just send the one. The “message number” can be an entity or attribute value…whichever is easier.

sequence:
  - data:
      data:
        type: tts
      message: good morning doug
      target: media_player.doug_office
    service: notify.alexa_media_doug_office

The following is also working, but again, only one message.

sequence:
  - service: notify.alexa_media_ma_office
    data_template:
      message: 'Current outside temperature is {{ states(''sensor.acurite_temperature_3'')
        }} degrees the humidity is {{ states(''sensor.acurite_humidity_3'')
        }} percent:::: and it feels like {{ states(''sensor.comfort'')
        }} degrees'
      target: media_player.ma_office
      data:
        type: tts

I’ve seen examples where people select random messages, but haven’t found one where you can select which message to send.

Does anyone have a quick example they could post?

HA abode integration event_codes confusion

$
0
0

I’ve been trying to get HA to run automations when my abode alarm is triggered. I thought I would be able to use the Manual alarm control panel (https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/manual) to do this, but I don’t see my alarm_control_panel.abode_alarm ever go into a “triggered” state when the alarm is triggered (other automations using “armed_away”, “armed_home”, and “disarmed” work fine).

The only way that I am able to get this to work is by using this as my trigger:

    platform: event
    event_type: abode_alarm

…which is fine, but the automation is firing for all events listed (https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/abode/).

I was hoping to use the event_code, similar to what MisterWil shows here: https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/9349#issuecomment-330573849, but I am confused about which event_code to use.

For example, the event_code numbers available (https://github.com/MisterWil/abodepy/files/1262019/timeline_events.txt) in the Alarms section (1100-1199) show 2 codes for “Alarm Triggered”

{"event_code":"1130", "event_type":"Alarm Triggered"}
...
{"event_code":"1133", "event_type":"Alarm Triggered"}

Any clue which one I should use? Or, can I list multiple event_codes under the event_data section?

Lovelace custom card on Home Assistant Core at all possible?

$

Question: is it at all possible to install custom Lovelace cards in Home Assistant Core?

  • Running HA Core in a python virtual environment on Xubuntu 20.04. Trying to install the custom power-wheel-card (Github). Dropped ‘power-wheel-card.js’ in config/www. In my case: /home/homeassistant/.homeassistant/www/

  • Using yaml-mode for Lovelace. Added ‘resource’ statement to ui-lovelace.yaml:
    resources:

    • url: /local/power-wheel-card.js?v=1
      type: module
  • When loading front-end, I get response ‘custom card does not exist’.

  • Permissions on files and directories are OK. Searched the forums, and it’s unclear to me whether custom cards only work in Hass.io/Home Assistant, or also in HA Core.

Any ideas welcome!
Thanks,
Teunis

ONVIF & Amcrest IP5M-T1179E

I am setting up my Amcrest I P5M-T1179E with HA.
The following entities are auto discovered.

I first tried using the Amcrest integration but the motion detected and connected sensor lost connection every minute or so but they did change state.

I tried the custom Amcrest integration and this worked ok for the binary sensor motion however my system was struggling, high running temp, excess mem. and CPU.

I then tried the ONVIF Integration and I get

image

problem is they never change state, I know the camera has triggered a motion alarm as I get a push notification from the Amcrest App.

The camera streams are fine with ONVIF., am I missing some setting in the camera or in my configuration?

I looked on the Amcrest website for a firmware update but nothing listed for my particular model no.

Matching Smart Bulb Brightness from Dimmer Switch

I recently got a Zooz ZEN30 double switch which has a smart bulb mode that allows for the dimmer to provide 100% power, but still report a brightness.
It also appear Inovelli has a beta firmware that may support the same feature with their dimmers.

I’ve finally got an automation to trigger and change the brightness, but it only appears to trigger on the first brightness step when holding down the dimmer paddle. Any suggestions or ideas why it’s not triggering for each brightness step of the dimmer?

Met.no - Forecast Template

I am looking to build on my TTS platform and I hit a bit of a roadlock with the templating of weather using Met.no.

I have successfully built the template for reading out the weather for the current day, however i cannot get it to return the correct information for future days.

The below successfuly gets the correct information read out for today.

The weather is {{ states('weather.home') }} with a high of {{ state_attr('weather.home', 'temperature') }} degrees.

But i cannot figure out how to get the forecast attributes into a templace. The full state attributes for the entity are below.
